Ladies, Do you have a special scent?

When I was a young girl, the older ladies were covered in horrid perfumes and colognes. So I never started wearing them. As I look back, I think they were masking not bathing.
Is there a better way to smell than Dove soap?
Do you have a favorite clean, fresh scent you wear? Tell me!
 

OMG, do I ever remember the days of bad, smelly perfume on older ladies!

Had a school teacher that I am convinced used to swim in cheap perfume before coming to school.

Myself, I prefer au-naturel, though I do mist myself with a little alcohol and essential oil after a bath. Right now I'm using a sweet citrus mix, but you can use anything.

I've tried scented body washes, and though they smell nice and all straight out of the bottle, the scent disappears and doesn't remain on your skin after you rinse and dry.
 

I'm a fan of just smelling CLEAN...No perfume ever.
BUT I got one of those scratch n sniff samples in the mail
and it smells light and clean, used in extreme moderation maybe.

I very lightly dabbed the paper sample on one wrist and
it smells very good even though I don't like rose water.
One teensy drop of this on one wrist would be plenty!

Then take that one wrist and barely touch it to other areas
to "spread the wealth". Next time you're in a department
store, ask them for a free sample...just for fun. Or do
they even do that anymore? I never go to malls.

Perfumes and colognes sure have gotten expensive, haven't they, Lara.

I bought my husband a bottle of Jean Paul Gaultier "Le Male" last year, and ouch.
 
I think all perfumes should be banned.

Reason:

When perfume is dabbed or sprayed on a lady, it sends out invisible hooks that latch on to the nostrils of us poor fellas, anchoring itself and dragging us in the direction of the lady wearer, even when we want to go for a pint.
I tell you, it's dangerous stuff. :)
 
I realize this is directed at the women but need to chime in concerning smelly women and men. First off I do enjoy a very light scent on a woman although freshly bathed is preferred. Now, on to the men slathering on the cologne. Gross! As a teenage I fell for that garbage and drowned myself in Jade East, English Leather, Canoe, Brut and all the other ridiculous scents. Basically I believe in bathing for both genders and smelling naturally clean.
Of course, my dad liked Old Spice and said it makes the girls go GA-GA. :ROFLMAO:

I love this Body Lotion and keep next to the sink for use on my hands because it's got Shea Butter & Vitamin E in it.

It smells super light and clean and I occasionally have people asking me what it is, or telling me I smell good. It's subtle though. It's the only thing I have ever used for as long as I can remember.

It's only about $19 at Bath & Body Works and lasts forever! It reminds me of the beach for some reason...probably the name but it really smells like a fresh clean breeze.

Yea all that super strong Jade East, English Leather, Canoe, Brut etc. just way over the top. I quit all fragrances when I discovered they were killing me with my asthma. The only fragrance I want to smell on a woman is clean, bare skin.
 
I used to like to wear Norell, but I think they took it off the market; probably not many were buying it since it was sooo expensive. And I do like Old Spice as long as it's applied lightly.

But I can't stand that Axe aftershave/body spray/ whatever; almost gags me.

Did you know that in Brit-speak the colloquial term for a truck is a lorry?
When I asked my wife if there was something special that I could treat her to for her birthday, she said that she would like some lorry oil. Strange, but I've been married long enough not to argue. After she had unwrapped the five gallon drum I discovered that it was spelt: "L'Oréal."
