Ladies, Keeping Your Arms Covered

I don't really care about what others think. I wear regular short sleeves for many years now. When I was wearing sleeveless a lot in the sun, I got a weird looking red spot, like a mole on my upper arm. I can still see the red spot, and the doctors in the past have said it didn't look cancerous.

But I stopped wearing those shirts anyway, because if I'm jogging like I used to, or working in the yard, or on long hikes in the mountains on sunny days, it's much nicer to have something to absorb the perspiration from under the arms. I do wear tank tops at night in bed.

I'm lucky to have arms, I'm old, not going to complain about loose skin or wrinkles. Can't afford to take daily baths in Crepe Erase, :)

I am self conscious about my arms and always have been even when I was young! I saw a photo of me in a sleeveless shirt and didn't like how my upper arms looked.

So I've been covering my upper arms for a long time. I wear short sleeves only, well long when it's cold ❄️. I just don't even look at them anymore.

I live in an Ag county. Both men and women work hard outside. I see all types of RESPECTFULLY uncovered skin (no boobs & butts) in the stores and nobody cares because we all have some type of outdoor work to do. The young people who help us and have tattoos from their fingertips up to their shoulders are also very respectful that we let our elderly skin show and treat us with much respect.

Except that I can’t walk without a cane & back brace, at 78 I am still fairly well toned, thanks to the barn work I have to do every day. Even if I weren’t, I wouldn’t care because my shopping stores are Walmart, Kroger, and Tractor Supply..

I am also very thankful that my skin isn’t so thin from medications that I have to cover up for safety reasons.

That said, my tank tops are so raggedy that I only wear them at home. All of my warm season “out and about” tops are cap sleeves.

The AC is always on high in my car. When I was carrying husband back and forth to the cancer doctor and the hospital, I kept a blanket & pillow in the car because he was an icicle when I was passing out from the heat. His side of the vehicle’s air units were also shut off.

So no, I don’t care what people think about my arms & legs - I have a life to get on with and they don’t sign my paycheck🤠

Fo my around-the-house wear in the summer. I wear tank tops and shorts or skorts. I change into a short sleeved top if I need to run an errand or to the store.

There are short sleeves on all my at-work wear and less casual wear tops. I’m not crepey yet, but my upper arms are thicker than they used to be and sleeveless wear is no longer flattering.
