Ladies what do you use on.

I don't have thinning hair but then again I take Biotin, Horsetail Shavegrass, Ginko Biloba, Zinc, and a high B-complex vitamin. I also don't over wash my hair. Daily washing can strip natural oils leaving hair dry and unmanageable. I also don't ever use curling irons or high heat when I blow dry. After drying, I use a very small amount of coconut oil applied to the ends of my hair and then brushed through.

A lot of things can contribute to hair loss. Here's an informative article for natural remedies for thinning hair.

11 Natural Remedies to Stop Thinning Hair

My hair took a hit when I had pancreatitis. I tried different things, but didn't have any luck. I accidentally found out that after taking Dr. Ax Collagen Protein for joints that after 2 -3 months, my hair was improving. I switched to Natures Plus Collagen Peptides which has the same ingredients. My hair hasn't ever gotten back to 100%, but better than before.

I also will use 3 parts coconut oil to 1 part fresh grated ginger mixed together. It doesn't take much to use. I rub it into my scalp & roots since my hair is short, it generally melts covering the rest of my hair. I wear an old shirt because it may drip. I also use a disposable shower cap on my head to keep it from getting on anything. If you have long hair, you may need to spread it through with your fingers. I keep it on for about an hour or so. Wrapping a towel around your head adds some warmth.

To keep the ginger from going bad, I keep it in the freezer until it's needed.

Thinning, dry hair?

Ain't old age a blast,,,,,,,,,not
I noticed my hair is thinning and dry. Hair stylists always commented that I had nice thick hair, but not coarse. I lose a lot in my brush, much more than I used to, and back then I didn't care.

I just started using a gentler shampoo/conditioner combo, the kind I used to take on camping trips for a quick wash. Any brand is fine, I currently am finishing the bottle of Pantene that I bought for camping. Along with that, I still use an inexpensive conditioner like Suave. I also have a small bottle of leave in conditioner that I put on the ends while my hair is still wet.

I backed off on blow drying too, only a minimum if really needed, but usually drip dry. I stopped using coloring around a year ago, I knew even the natural temporary brands I was using weren't good for my aging hair.

Just saw an ad..

When I was using Head & Shoulders, I noticed that my hair was thinning. When I switched to Nexxus shampoo and conditioner, I no longer had that issue. So, you might want to consider switching your shampoo.
Nexxus is a great brand for thinning hair.
The natural remedies link offers some good advice. Another thing to consider is your water. You can get attachments for your shower that will take out excess chlorine and fluoride from municipal systems as well as excessive minerals from well water.

I also have cut back on washing my hair every day, gave up coloring and only use a dryer when I am planning on going out. I also cut mine off to a very short bob a few weeks ago took about 7 to 8 inches off, All the dry stuff gone, hair feels thicker and healthy. It is also easier to take care off and does'nt strangle me at night. Good decision for me.

As a male stepping into this thread......

The good old NHS says to get "hair lotion containing minoxidil". Which I know some men use too.

It also recommends against "miracle cures".

Good luck!

Back when I wore hats,,my hair was thick, lots of it.
Then I got a short hair cut,,not much to anchor a hat to.

Does you wife find hats a the thrift shops?
Was in a thrift shop & noticed. large selection hats.

Oldest son took to wearing hats of different styles in high school.
When he was in your country this past Fall he bought a black hat.
He wears it proudly.
