So, if someone has a national or state flag hanging outside his home, and some folks got "upset" by that, they had the right to shoot him?
We do not have the right in this country to make a "political statement?" Really? What terrorist regime do you represent, Packerjohn?

That has got to be the most hateful remark I've ever seen on this forum.
 

Could have had a ancestor. I worked with a woman with a very Asian last name. Her husband was 1/2 Korean. Their kids only 1/4. Her son has a kid, that name continues on to white appearing children.

Wonder if he was conflicted about himself in some way.
 
I was actually discussing this on another forum. No stickers on my car, I would not put up a political sign. I don't want to draw attention to myself. I've received too much abusive treatment for doing nothing.

That doesn't mean others shouldn't. I just won't. I'll wear a cat t-shirt or something but that's about as expressive as it gets.

Deputies found the suspect near Torrey and Rause Rancho Roads, armed with a handgun.

"When deputies attempted to contact the suspect, a lethal force encounter occurred and the suspect was pronounced deceased," read an update from the sheriff's department. No deputies were injured.

The Lake Arrowhead LGBTQ organization spoke out about the shooting, saying though Carleton didn't identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, she spent her time helping and advocating for everyone in the community.

San Bernardino County Third District Supervisor also spoke out about the shooting, calling it "unthinkable."

"I stand with my mountain communities as we mourn this incredible loss," she wrote in an Instagram story. "Everyone deserves to live free of hate and discrimination and practice their constitutional right of freedom of speech. Lauri was a remarkable member of the community and I send my deepest condolences to her family in this time of grief."

That is so sad, horrifying, frightening and senseless. May she rest peacefully, shameful loss of innocent life. Condolences to her children and family. So many hateful violent people out there who are goaded into anger and violence by those with a platform and a microphone. Sad days in our country.

That flag was representing tolerance and love for ALL Americans, it was not a political flag. Even if it was, that wouldn't matter.

In this country you should be able to show a flag of things you feel passionate about, it should NOT give anyone the right to kill that person.

Expressing your opinion in the United States of America should NOT be a death sentence.

If that killer was upset, it's his problem. I am not anti-gun, but I am anti-gun nutter. That killer, with that hateful mindset, should not have even been allowed to own a gun. If I'm not mistaken, he had a history on Social Media of being hateful to certain groups of people.

Too many damn killings in the USA, from young children in schools, to black Americans worshiping in their church, to Jewish people in their synagogues, to Hispanic Americans shopping at a Walmart.

How you can excuse this is disgusting , bigoted and anti-American to me. That is not what this country is all about.

She wouldn't have been murdered if she didn't have a Pride flag outside her business? That is pathetic.

it's not just your nation at a crossroads ; so is UK and OZ etc etc - it;s the entire globe - give man too much knowledge and he becomes selfish and greedy - remember that country that uses happiness as a national index factor - that's wot we need unselfish happiness but we seem to be living in a world of too much greed atm
 
What is the world coming to, huh? Someone drawing guns over a flag they don't like. Jeez.

This can't be anything but a tragedy. A pointless death, by a pointless act. Sad times.

Oh yes, of course. Militancy is the new normal. Social Media drives minority agendas, and we're forced to have opinions about things that don't affect us at all. The obscure is mainstream if someones timeline is sufficiently full of posts. We've lost our tether to the real world. 0-60 in seconds is the new normal.

I don't know where the world is heading, but it'll do it mostly without me, so I guess it's up to others to figure it out. Nothing, and I mean nothing, is right about the flag incident.
 
madness has often been around in all societies - some have learned to control dangerous weapons more effectively - that's all. Your gun lobby is a monster at large
