Laptop verses phone for posting and reading forums...

I'm mediocre at texting because I'm a speed touch typist - on a keyboard I type between 80-105 wpm. Typing with just my thumbs drives me bananas, LOL!

So for me also, keyboard & monitor preferred. I use my desktop - my laptop is for travel or videoconferencing; I don't find the smaller, more crowded keyboard to encourage good ergonomics for me.

My laptop never leaves home another habit I've gotten in to.
Maybe it should go with me at times, or I should wait until
I get home and hop on my laptop which I do lots of the time.

I feel like whining today a bit, and so I am lol

Smartphone works for a short period just after I wake up, am forced to stand up to go p, turn on the laptop and power downstairs, then go back upstairs for more eyes closed snoozing and laying in bed while grabbing that device. An awesome benefit for being a Senior Citizen where the government pays me nicely to do nothing and every day I wake up is Saturday!

I avoid using apps. LTE with the iPad and Apple. Just the normal senior forums.com
Use dell 7060 Mini desk Puter with 11 Pro. The Dell i7 LAP Top 10 Pro went to the grandson with his games. The iPad and Apple are my mobiles.

I don't have a phone! I don't want a phone! I don't want to be that 'available' to 'anyone'! I am retired and my wife knows where I am and if I am out, she knows where to call to get hold of me. Other than that, no matter... By the way, both my wife and I have lost our parents, making this possible...

My laptop doesn't make phone calls and my phone doesn't use the internet, so I use my laptop for reading and posting messages. I do have a functioning mobile phone. It cost £10 and I've only ever topped it up once in about 12 years.
Maybe a Sim Chip from your Cell Provider and turn on the feature and presto?

Not having girl fingers, a full desktop with a real keyboard is my go-to for anything serious. Not that the phone is any improvement over a laptop aside from real portability. But I don't live in bed, either.
You can get full sized Blu tooth keyboards, they couple up with an iPad.
