Las Vegas.....1947

How things have changed in that area!! If I had just One day's electricity costs in that city, I'd probably be a multimillionaire. We've been going there, about once a year, for the past 30+ years, and it's rare to not see a new casino/hotel being built since our last visit.

Oh, I really liked flying into McCarran. Their longest runway is 25R/7L at 14,500 feet in length. Putting down a B-767 loaded with passengers, luggage and freight with the extra long runway gives the pilot extra confidence.

Walking through the airport and seeing all the slot machines and people waiting to catch their flight putting one last quarter in was always fun to stop for a moment and see if they would have a winner. We were not allowed to contribute to the Las Vegas economy in that fashion.
