Las Vegas. Rampaging Driver Kills 1, Injures 37

What is WRONG with people nowdays???!! I get (but do not condone) punching your ex-wife in the nose or something like that -- but crashing into a crowd of people you don't even KNOW? What in blazes is that even supposed to MEAN??
 
One of the news reports this morning said that she had been having some ongoing issues with her child's father, and that she had been living in her car, and was being chased out of various LV casino parking areas for the past week. I guess she decided to blame everyone but herself for her issues, and killing/maiming a bunch of tourists would be her "revenge".

Seen that before. Especially in drug abusers. To top it off although they pretty much ruled out alcohol the police drug observation expert thinks she was using stimulants. Side effects of many stimulants could include somekind of psychosis. I can see her lawyers now trying to play this up as a 'drugged' driving incident.

They said she kept on getting kicked out of areas where she was parking/trying to sleep. I can't believe rather than a casino parking lot she didn't try to find a shopping center parking lot where the locals might shop. I've lived in tourist areas and especially during peak season or big event the homeless are rousted from their usual hangouts especially on or in sight of the major roads.

I understand homelessness and/or sleeping in car. But I also understand many have zero tolerance for vagrancy or loitering. Those laws/ordinances are in place for a reason because unfortunately homeless is frequently associated with drug or mental issues, not always, sometimes some have to do what they have to do.

The alleged driver killer had pot in her system at the time of the rampage. Blood tests show she was approximately 30% above the state limit but below some federal guidelines.

Although I don't think pot is the main culprit here one must wonder how these chemicals affected her in the days or weeks leading up to this incident. Or maybe she was grumpy because she ran out of pot. Not an excuse.
