"Study: Chemo hurts patients with end-stage cancer"

An important new medical study finds that chemotherapy does not extend life for end-stage, terminal cancer patients. What's more, those who received chemotherapy treatment near the end of their disease had a worsequality of life than those who didn't.

Terminal cancer patients receiving chemotherapy had worse quality of life.

I have more or less determined that should I get cancer, I will take one or two courses of chemo to attempt remission but after that I will decide to avail myself of palliative care only so that whatever time I have left is as comfortable as it can be. I want to be able to talk to the people I love without feeling sick all the time.

Hubby's best friend had lymapthic cancer he suffered through chemo treatments loosing hair and becoming very depressed .some time after he was given the all clear ..he would go every 6 months for a complete scan this lasted 5 years he was cleared At that appointment, and told to come back in 6 months .....however he had a large lump appear on his neck almost overnight soon after the specialists appointment .....The local doctor said nothing to worry about.. Latter that week he went to the specialist who confirmed the cancer,it was back they decided to use a new drug of which he had one treatment of a course of 6 he passed away a week after the first treatment..apparently the scan had not picked up the cancer on his neck .
