Lava Spilling Into the Ocean

Not sure exactly where this is, I'm thinking the Big Island of Hawaii.

My late husband and I went to the Big Island for our 25th Anniversary. We stayed a couple of days at Volcano House and decided the first night to drive down the Chain of Craters Road to see if anything was going on. Was it ever! There was a lava flow going, lots of people there and everyone was just sailing past all the *DO NOT GO BEYOND THIS POINT* signs so we sailed past, too. We were able to get close enough to actually feel the heat and I will never forget the sound of the lava hitting the water.....like it was screaming.

Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time but I wonder how smart it was....

Yes, pumice stone! It has so many uses, but I just use to scrape the bunions off of my feet. How's that for a nice visual for you? :D

I'll tell you something else I just found out about using pumice stone. If you get the hard water rings around your toilet bowl that you can scrub and scrub and scrub and can't seem to totally eradicate, use a pumice stone. It's softer than the porcelain, so it can't scratch the surface, but it's harder than the water deposits. Now, I need to go get a new pumice stone to put back in the shower.
