Laying out my blessings

Every morning I lay my blessings out on my dining room table, where they can be easily seen throughout the day, and added to. (Sound like nonsense? Try telling yourself not to think of an elephant. Once a thought exists, it's very "real" and powerful.)

I do this because when trials and tribulations occur during the day (and if one is alive, they will occur), they are now forced to exist side-by-side with my blessings.

My blessings so far today:
The Sun is peeking through beautiful, white fluffy clouds and the visible patches of sky are a Sharp blue.
Two birds are singing outside my window.
Weatherman says temps on the cool side today (in the 60s), so I checked my pantry and have everything I need to bake bread. I also checked the fridge and I have enough odds and ends to make a pot of veggie soup with a wee bit of chicken in it.
My cup of chamomile tea and honey really hits the spot today as I snuggle into my warm sweater.
It appears the small scrape I have on my arm is healing nicely.

What blessings can you lay out on your table today?

My cats are alive and well and so am I.

My tooth is not quite hurting today.

I just refilled 2 prescriptions without having to go through the doctor whose staff never calls them in on time.

My sky is blue too with white clouds that don't mean rain.

I saw Mars at midnight last night and knew it was Mars even though I could not convince my neighbor who had gone out with me in hopes of seeing it yet thought it was just a star. My limited knowledge of astronomy stood me in good stead.

This new laptop works better than the old one and doesn't get viruses.

I found this really uplifting post here today and decided to respond despite the crap I've been getting on FB.

What a wonderful way to start the day mena.

My blessings today are warm showers to make plants in my garden grow
and wildflowers to bloom.
I found asparagus in the yard to go with carrots and baked potatoes for the noon
meal and haddock from the freezer.
I made an apple crumb pie that did not burn around the crust and it will be a nice
dessert for tomorrow.
Had a call from our son to see if we needed anything.
All in all today has been good.

My blessings are:

I am in good health as far as I know
My pets are in good health as far as I know
It is a lovely 65 degrees out there today
It is good walking weather and I'm going to enjoy a walk today
I have a roof over my head and all my shelter bills are paid
I have enough food to eat in the refrigerator for awhile

Blessings: I am healthy. I live on a beautiful green island with very little crime. Soon, my balcony will come alive with colour from the flowers and herbs I plant every year. Two beautiful catterrorists continue to share my life. My son and DIL are well

and happy, she has just completed her final year of law school. I am blessed with wonderful friends. Finally, and most important, I have found love where I least expected it. Merci, mon coeur.

Added blessings for today:

The red yarn I ordered arrived a day earlier than I thought it would.

The whole wheat bread I baked turned out great and between that and the veggie soup I made today the whole house smells wonderful. I added a few small shell pasta to the soup and it turned out to be the perfect touch.

I found a dime in the Walgreens parking lot.

What a wonderful thread!

Today I found that a shrub I thought had been over winter killed is showing signs of life.

I found a walking partner.

and I found a new game for the cats to play but only one wants to play, the other looks on with that cat-like indifference.

I can smell that baked bread and veggie soup now. Ahhhh!

Blessed to live in a gorgeous and peaceful area with a garden/yard that is bursting with flowers.

Today is sunny and I'm going out to walk along our road which is on the coast so makes a pleasant walk.

Slept like a baby last night.

Currently sitting up in bed having finished my porridge and tea, listening to talk radio and glancing up at the bay windows overlooking the loch. Best way to start the day. :)

Laying out my blessings for today:

Hot cocoa and homemade, whole wheat toast for breakfast

Enough mental awareness and ability to solve most of the crossword puzzle in the morning paper.

My neighbor, severely handicapped since birth, laughing at a squirrels antics and waving at me from her porch this morning, reminding me by her mere presence to exercise my sense of humor today if I start to feel grumpy about something.

Plenty of food for today.

I got to hang out with my daughter and grandkids today. My son says he is over his cold, and it is in the high eighties and sunny here in Tennessee.

Added blessings today:

I can remember my loved ones names and recognize their faces, unlike my dearest buddy Dwight, whom I visited today in an assisted living center for people with Alzheimers

I had enough money to buy a chicken today (on sale!) Woohoo! I'm thinking chicken and noodles tomorrow!

My hearing is still sharp enough to get high on the intoxicating, mellow voice of Nat King Cole singing "For Sentimental Reasons"

I got a nice bottle of wine for real cheap and it tastes good.
I feel good today.
I get to watch The Voice Finale(it's on now on NBC).

Little Miss Annie, sitting on her fanny enjoying her porridge and tea. She has a great life without care or strife. If only Miss Annie were me.

Sorry, Annie. No disrespect intended. "Porridge" just summoned "Little Miss Muffet" to my brain and the rest just poured out unbidden.

Laying out my blessings for today:

My son, who stopped by this morning to deliver hugs and kisses and a perfectly ripe cantaloupe for my breakfast.

I have a fat chicken simmering in a pot on my stove.

I had enough physical strength to vacuum and dust my living room today.

I have a living room to vacuum and dust.

Whoa! In the UK fanny does not mean butt, it means ladies 'bits'. I have to remind myself to say oatmeal when I visit my family in the US. Otherwise, they make jokes about me saying porridge, and other non-American terms. :)

It was sunny again today. Bought a couple of steaks to BBQ and hubby and I ate dinner outdoors. :)

Sister is flying over tonight and we'll pick her up noon-ish tomorrow.

Added blessings for today:

A snail mail letter from my cousin in Iowa.

The Sun peeked out for a brief time this afternoon, to kiss the flowers then run and hide, fickle flirt that it is.

Chicken and homemade noodles for dinner.

Soft, warm slippers and a good book.

My tooth doesn't hurt again today and I haven't had to take any Advil or Tylenol or antibiotics!

A good friend called me tonight and we talked for nearly an hour and a half! Afterwards I felt so much better I went for a walk outside and then came in and played the piano, partly to get feeling even better, partly to give thanks for feeling better already and for the phone visit.

I got a snail mail letter from my friend in Hawaii. We have been friends for 43 years this spring. We may get to see each other every 10 years or so, and in between we stay in touch with real letters, not e-mail or FB. :)

This time my tooth hasn't hurt so badly that I've had to subsist on just peanut butter and mashed potatoes, as in the past with other toothaches. This time I can actually chew!

Two channels I have been watching today are having technical difficulties which don't interfere with the programs at all but silence some of the commercials so I don't even have to press Mute! lol

My kitty cats are well and seem to be happy. They are doing a good job of teaching me to chill and not always want to get out and go places.
