Learning How To Live Life

Thanks for sharing with us, how you helped that man, Marci.

Very good that you rushed to alert them, even though they have often not responded well to your communications with them.

About your fingers/hand pain.

Did you try those arthritis gloves?

Have you tried wearing Any stretchy gloves, that would give a slight compression effect?

Or if not I would try wrapping. Preferably a stretchy wrapping, or any fabric wrapping around them. I'm surprised how it sometimes helps nerve pain.... sending a different sensory message to neural pathways......
Yeah none of it is helping.

@MarciKS
I feel your pain about the patient. There is such an adrenaline rush and when it's all over, then comes the crash which is even more difficult because you still have to continue your work as if nothing happened. No time to come to terms with it until you get home and then you just don't want to even think about it. If the patient dies... IMO, PTSD is definitely a thing among health care workers.

Kudos to you for your quick observation and action. My heart goes out to you.

I definitely could never handle being a nurse.

I survived the first day of training the new girl. Other than being a little slow it was painless. She was pretty nice throughout. Her bestie doesn't particularly care for me so she gets snippy with me so I don't talk much to her. The little gal told her last night to chill. LOL!

She wants to play video games with me. Call of Duty being one. Said she sucks too so it will be an even match for us. If she plays. We'll see. I put in the effort. She said she used to play Fortnite but decided it had become too complicated. It can be a pain some days.

They are only giving her 2 days of training in the ER which is stupid. She wants more training. So I told her if she's not comfy with just 2 days to let the supervisor know. Whether or not she will do a good job, I can't say. She cleans OR and I never hear of her getting wrote up. Others complain she doesn't do a good job so I don't know.

I got my 401k site unlocked so I could get back in. Apparently if you don't log in they lock it up even though it's still active. LOL! So I got my username and reset my password. Supposedly admin has agreed to a 1.5% increase in the amount that goes into it for employees that have been there 9 years or less so IDK when that is to start. I'll hafta ask again. Not seeing it yet. I can get my tax document the 1st of Feb. Then I can get a tax appt scheduled.

Not sure what I'm doing tonight after work. I doubt I'll be playing video games. I have laundry drying and I need to shampoo my hair and get cleaned up and get some dinner into me. Still watching season 3 of School Spirits. So maybe tomorrow. I gotta do some housework Saturday. Clean the bathroom and vac the bedroom and living room again. And groceries of course.

I've been playing Minecraft Creative and I'm working on building myself a house at the moment. I'll hafta see if there's any animals. If not I may hafta start a game in survival to get them to spawn in creative. I'm figuring out how to build things so that's nice. It's relaxing for me.

There's a new scam going on that is tricking cashiers and causing large financial losses. I'm not posting the whole article but this was in my local paper today and involves Walmart...

"Here’s how it works: The purchaser uses a fake card with specific instructions on the back. One of the cards in this case read, “ATTENTION: If cardholder exceeds daily limit for future transactions cashier must follow 2 step verification: SCAN ALL items, Input EXACT AMOUNT + ENTER to complete transaction.” It is our understanding that the purchaser then only partially slides the card into the payment device and when the cashier presses cash, the drawer opens and a receipt is printed. The cashier then believes the transaction is successful. Several variations of the scam likely exist -- all intended to intimidate and fool cashiers.

During Tuesday night’s interaction, four men approached a variety of cashiers with separate purchases and with returns including receipts. Some purchases were completed and some were not. As cashiers became suspicious, they contacted the asset manager. The manager got a description of the vehicle the men left in and called dispatch.

In total, the group left with about $4,400 worth of cash and merchandise.

The responding officer immediately alerted his fellow Lawrence officers and the Highway Patrol to be on the lookout for the vehicle. Officers ultimately learned that the men were in a car they rented in Michigan. They also recovered receipts worth thousands of dollars from various stores around Kansas City and another Lawarence Walmart. LKPD is in contact with the corresponding police departments and the investigation continues."

Had to wait 10 min for the kid to get the dinner line set up cuz it wasn't ready at 5. Food was cold. It's not that difficult. Plus he was whining about stuff.

Last time my grocery delivery got passed around from driver to driver for a whole hour. Finally someone took it and they were a half hour to 45 min late. If it continues I'm gonna contact someone about it.

They can refuse if you don't tip however if they all start doing it, it's considered abusive according to what I read online. It's called tip baiting. And it's not allowed.

Also since that one gal lost her delivery job because we turned in that hit and run IDK if they're deliberately blocking me or what. I'm keeping an eye on it. I will turn it in if I have to.

I try to tip when I can but the groceries are so expensive I just can't all the time. No excuse to treat a shopper like crap. I've seen the entries of spark drivers on reddit. Pretty crappy attitudes on some of them.

Groceries arrived without incident today. Yay!
All done with my cleaning. Getting ready to sit down to eat. I bought these Equate brand chewable acetaminophen for adults from Walmart. They are chews. They are hard to chew with dentures and they taste disgusting. Plus I had one hell of a time getting into the jar. Had to use my flathead screwdriver to pop the top lid off. They were like chewing on bitter oranges. Yuck! I'll take them cuz they were too expensive to toss but man!

After I eat I might put the tv on and take a nap. I have plans to do some gaming tonight. Gonna play Fortnite with a guy I used to work with. Plus I wanna start on Halo Infinite. I need to shampoo & condition for my psoriasis and then hop in the shower. Busy day sheesh!

I have no problem tipping at restaurants because of the way their hourly wage is done. You know it going there.

But at some point, are we supposed to tip every one every time for everything that's done? Not everyone may have the money to do this & are in the same financial boat they are. Just my thoughts on it.

I agree. Unfortunately Spark is a contracted service and not an hourly paying job. They make next to nothing but they know that going in. Only people who do it full time actually make any money at it. For most it's a side job. They don't care if we can afford it. They think they're entitled to it.

When I was a waitress I never once treated tipping customers any different than non tipping and I never felt entitled to a tip. And I was making a lousy $2.25 an hr. I just went to work and did my job. If I'm gonna tip it would be after I get my order and see that it's all there and how friendly the delivery person is and if I can afford it. Not just because Sir Hot Wheels thinks he's entitled to a 15% tip for picking it up and driving it over and setting it on the porch.

I don't clean up peoples vomit at work and expect a tip and I should get one in that instance. LOL!

You seem to have today off work, Marci.
That's nice. How bout tomorrow?

It's nice that you got some cleaning done in your place, today, and got your grocery delivery, alright.
🙂
