Legal sharks attack US Marines

For those not in the US, in the 1980s, a toxic chemical was leaked into the drinking water of a US Marine base. Now, Congress have cleared the way for individuals to sue for damages to their health. On TV, there are dozens of ads from legal firms, on constantly, offering their services. There's no charge if they lose, but if they do get a settlement, as much as 50% goes to the law firm. For me, it feels like a "legal shark feeding frenzy".
 

There are many military bases that have some level of contamination of ground water, public safety wasn't taken seriously up until the 70s.
Yes, like the asbestos ads, whenever there are large class action settlements you can be sure there will be a "legal shark feeding frenzy".
 
We all know the legal profession is suspect to ethical behavior. I read a joke today that expresses this in no uncertain terms....
