As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that life teaches us lessons we often wish we had known earlier. Some are about relationships, some about patience, happiness, or simply appreciating the small moments.
So what have you learned ?As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that life teaches us lessons we often wish we had known earlier. Some are about relationships, some about patience, happiness, or simply appreciating the small moments.
I think , speaking from experience you only worry about it if you don't have it...We spent too much time worry about money.
Right, but people with money still want more money.I think , speaking from experience you only worry about it if you don't have it...
I don’t want more, I just want enough!Right, but people with money still want more money.
Yessss. I learned that particular lesson 'way too late.I learned that you dont have to justify your decisions and argue with somebody about why you dont want to do something.
"Because I dont want to" is a perfectly acceptable response.
No works too if youre not feeling chatty.
Same here, learning to say no sure has made my life easier.Learning how to say No, Thank You was probably the most important thing that I’ve learned as an adult.
I spent most of my life trying to please others, now it’s all about me!![]()
Indeed. There's a lot of power and happiness to be achieved from having 'Enough Money'.I don’t want more, I just want enough!![]()
I’ve learned that growing older is a privilege not everyone gets. Each wrinkle carries a story, and every season of life has its own beautySo what have you learned ?![]()
Well said, I've learned the same things and am better for it.I’ve learned that growing older is a privilege not everyone gets. Each wrinkle carries a story, and every season of life has its own beauty
I still worry about money... Not today, but what about tomorrow? What if I outlive my savings? We spent too much time worry about money.
I was just thinking this morning my about my needing to live in the present.
I've learned to let the past go but I still spend way too much time worrying about tomorrow.
I detach myself from the news. I may read or watch them casually, but I would not attach any emotion to the news, it's not worth it.Turn off the news and never turn it on. The news is not designed to impart information. It's designed to sell commercials. The OJ trial ruined the news cycle. Nowadays, we are all glued to what amounts to a "slow moving white Bronco". Print media is better because it is difficult to impart fear and sense of urgency in that space.
After 60, you usually have more money than time. Don't deny yourself of small pleasures. I'll drive 30 minutes to buy a good bag of coffee now.
Learn to be happy to be in your own company. Traveling solo is much easier sometimes and my wife likes a break from me.
