Child proof caps for us older folks.

Several years ago an older lady that lived just across the street (since passed) called me to come over and help her with something and when I got there she had me open her pills for her because they had child proof caps and she didn't have the grip strength to open them. I got them opened for her and then I called her pharmacy and arranged for them from now on to just put regular screw on caps on all of her medications.

Sometimes those caps can be a pain in the butt but I've found a solution.....

Now you can get bottles opened - and at same time - crush your tablets so they are easier to take :)

Yep and along those lines ....Getting a menu instead of a real person when you call a company.

I hate when that menu recorded voice asks you to tell it what you want, doesn't understand, then you repeat, it doesn't understand, then finally will have you use the keypad which it gets instantly. Actually, I've learned to bypass that by continuously pressing O for operator. I usually get transferred to a live person immediately.

A lot of old/older folks would love to get rid of iPhones. There have been discussions after discussions about family use while in a restaurant. Then, when in a doctor's office or some other kind of office, where there is a sign that says "Please silence your cell phone", as in not turn it off, but put the ringer on vibrate, either people don't see the sign or completely ignore it. Talking or texting while driving. Seeing someone with their knees up on the steering while texting someone. Yes, I've seen that happen. The younger generation taking calls during working hours or calling during the same time.

Yes, the cell phone or iPhone.........could be actually go without it???? We did years ago.

Or not pressing anything at all..

The Blue Tooth. Not necessary. As far as driving, there is no need to be having a phone conversation while driving. If someone has died, let the driver come home for the bad news.

Also people talking in public with them often confuse others....Hey! You talkin' to me?

Years ago, you telephoned someone at their home and their phone rang. It was a bell ... usually pretty loud. They picked up their phone and you talked. Today, as often as not you end up leaving a message. I few hours later ... or the next day ... or a couple days later you get a call back. "Oh, my phone was <in the car, in my coat, in my purse, in my backpack, on vibrate> and I didn't know you called."

Really?? Ain't progress grand!!!

you leave a message on someones answering machine --they know what time you go to bed and that is what time they call you back

I'm with you Ike... I have arthritis in my hands, and those childproof caps are a nightmare

I wish that they would abolish television advertising for pharmaceuticals, supplements, durable medical equipment, health insurance, Medicare/Medicaid, etc...

So long Dr. Ho.
