we had that in one of our houses when I was a child. It was in the kitchen, the old black range.. but my mother never used it, instead she used a modern ( for the time ).. Parkinson Cowan gas cooker..

I took that picture at Audley end house near where I live. It was a huge Mansion back in the day .. and during Victorian times, and they've retained all the ''below stairs'' as they were in Victorian times. The kitchens, the servants quarters, the Butlers' room.. the pantries, etc...it's a fascinating place...Wow, now that's the kitchen of someone who loves cooking! My type of person!
