Let's talk about bed

I have always slept on the left side of our bed. In fact as far as I can recall, even before marriage, always left. Whatever bed anywhere, staying over at friends, I maintain the left.
Thinking of hotels we have stayed at, I head for the left side. I don't know if my husband chose the right side or accepted it.

So why?
So which side do you sleep on and do you understand why?

I had always slept on the left (as you face the bed) as I liked to sleep on my right side and face away from the bed.

I still sleep on that side of the bed but can't sleep on my right side now, so now I've had to get used to facing into the bed. The Spousal Equivalent snores at me. I still like the left side, though.

I sleep on the left side mostly. But it depends on how the bed is. Growing up, my bed was against a wall, so I slept away from the wall which was on the left side, so I slept on the right.

Is that the left as you look at the bed or left as you lie in it ?

I sleep on the left of the bed as you look at it.. but on the right as I lie in it....

Same. Just last night I was wondering why I thought I needed the whole bed. Now that I can, I’m still start in the same section. In the middle of the night when the insomnia kicks in, I trash my legs and arms about.

The main decision when elsewhere was left side for DH, right for me based on our dominant hand. Same with towel racks, chairs, etc. If the washroom in a hotel was closer to the left, I would modify the rules.

I am as a dead woman! In fact I wake to find I am frozen in place. Husband thrashes around and for some reason the duvet piles onto me.

For as long as I've been an adult, I've slept on my right side because sleeping on my left side caused pain, and I slept on the right side of the bed because that's where the bedside table with the alarm clock was.

Sleeping on my right side stopped causing pain after my gallbladder was removed about 5 or 6 years ago, so I can sleep peacefully on either my left or right side. But I've been sleeping on the left side of the bed ever since I've shared my bed with Michelle. She prefers the right side, where the bedside table with the alarm clock is.

I guess I got in a habit of always having the bedside table with the alarm clock on the right side of the bed because I had to sleep on my right side. (but at this point I'm not sure if anything I wrote here makes sense...I may have lost track)

I'm on the left side when in the bed. Have no idea why I chose it but I stay there most of the time, even though it's a king bed, unless I inch to the center of the bed. I've tried to take over his side, since he's gone, and I just don't stick with it. Now I put my book on his side, extra pillows, or my tv remotes, lol.

Facing the bed (standing at the bottom) of the bed; I sleep on the right side and body is on the left facing away from my hubby as he breathes on me sometimes and it is annoying. Thank goodness I can't hear him snoring. Of course I understand why I do this but I am not going to tell you why.

Same here. I have a neck issue and must have at least two pillows to raise my head if I am on my back. Otherwise, sleep on my side.
I find a neck collar fantastic to wear when sitting up to read. I always doze off and it stops my head lolling to one side which causes pain when I wake. I keep it nearby, so when I first wake up I put it on and sit up awhile. As I doze again my neck stays safe.
