Life is curious and curiouser

I’ve worn many hats in my life. I’ve done everything I set out to do, along with the unexpected life is curious because I cannot explain how I got here. If miracles exist it is life, because life is a mystery to me. A miracle is an event or an occurrence that cannot be explained.

It's a "birds and bees" thing.
How it happened isn't something parents normally disclose to their kids.
(Just messin' with ya).

I think most of us can be pretty sure how we got here. Children today have a few more options than we did but the future generations won't need to ask. They'll know . Geez, did I think that up? My brain must be in overdrive or I had too much coffee. I need a nap,

Well, sitting in church this morning and the pastor said he / we as a congregation of believers are nothing without jesus. This was disturbing to me because I am a nonbeliever and I am accountable for my life, I am somebody worthy.
I asked copilot, different worldviews frame human worth and accountability.
Why Christians Believe They Are “Nothing Without Jesus”

  • Theological foundation: In Christian doctrine, humanity is seen as fallen or imperfect because of sin. Jesus is understood as the redeemer who restores the broken relationship between humans and God.
  • Dependence on grace: Many Christians believe that human effort alone cannot achieve salvation or ultimate worth. Grace — freely given through Jesus — is what makes them whole.
  • Identity in Christ: The phrase “nothing without Jesus” reflects the idea that true identity, purpose, and eternal life are found in union with him. It’s less about self-negation and more about surrender to divine love.
🌍 Why Nonbelievers (like you) See Worth Without Jesus

  • Humanist perspective: You locate dignity in being accountable to yourself and others, not to a divine figure. Worth comes from responsibility, integrity, and the choices you make.
  • Autonomy: Instead of dependence on grace, you emphasize self-determination. You are “somebody” because you act, think, and live with agency.
  • Ethical grounding: Morality and meaning can be rooted in human experience, community, and reason — without needing a religious framework.
The Paradox Between the Two
  • Christians: Worth is received (a gift from outside the self).
  • Nonbelievers: Worth is claimed (earned or recognized from within the self).
  • Both approaches seek dignity and meaning, but they differ in the source: external transcendence vs. internal accountability.
