Lists of train museums for railroad aficionados

London has what could be described as a living rail museum. St Pancras railway station was chosen for the Eurostar UK terminus rather than a new build because it offered an underused, centrally located historic site with existing rail connections, making it cheaper and less disruptive than greenfield development. Its high-level train shed, large undercroft, and proximity to King’s Cross provided immense expansion space for high-speed infrastructure, while restoring its architecturally significant, underutilized Victorian structure.
