Yesterday, I couldn't believe my luck.
I was in the garden, when the lovely lady from over the road shouted to me.
"Get yourself washed and shaved, Tim, then get your fat backside over here for some dinner", she said in that very romantic way of hers.
So, an hour later I was sat in her dining room at the big table, and, sat opposite to me were two, about 8 year old young girls.
They were whispering and pointing at me, so I ventured, "I know that I'm a very handsome chap, interesting too, but, is there something wrong."
"Do you know (pointing at my right ear) that you have a huge bush of hair growing out of your ear", one said, giggling.
"Why, of course", I replied, smiling, "And, it's amazing, look, I've got another big bush of hairs growing out of the other one too."
"And if you watch carefully, I can tug the hairs and make my eyes swivel back and forth", I declared.
They were snorting and giggling, then I added, "I'm a bit afraid to close my eyes though, because I have to give my thumbs a big tug to open my eyes again."
"I don't believe you", said one of the girls.
"OK, smartypants", I said, "I'll prove it", shutting my eyes.
I sat there with my eyes shut for a few minutes, the other little girl said to me, "If I tug one of your thumbs, will your eyes open?"
"Only one, but if you want me to open both eyes, then you will need to tug both of my thumbs", I said.
I felt two little hands grabbing at my thumbs, and with a big grin, I opened my eyes.
"Well", I said, "Aren't you two very clever girls, your Great Nan would have had to carry me across the street home, if you two hadn't woke me by tugged my thumbs.
