As someone who doesn't have any checks, (or cheques as we call them) this is a real head scratcher. People still write checks?!?!?!?

They are all but disappeared from Australian landscape. Most financial institutions don't issue them or accept them any more.

I still have a cheque book from when Adam was a lad , it's very rare for people to use cheques in the UK...

And those are cashier's checks

However, I still use check registers
I like to keep a written log of important transactions

My past dog groomer charged me much less if I paid cash so I’d pay cash every time. She was a great dependable groomer. I sure miss her.

I still pay all my bills by check, except for 2. Those I pay by phone.
They have much more prettier stamps these days, too.

Along these lines.......

I'd let my hair grow out, down to my shoulders. It was time to get rid and return to my normal look. I went into the town center that has lots of barbers, and went into the first one I saw. "Sorry sir, cash only." Went to the next, "Sorry sir, cash only." I found a shop on my third try, one that accepted cards.

The thing is, I no longer carry cash either. I'm far more comfortable using my Debit Card.
