I am a senior who enjoys playing the ukulele and singing with others. We have an excellent Director that gives his volunteer time to lead us once a week. We have not been able to play at the Loma Linda CA Senior Center as the City Manager and staff has leased out the Senior Center to a Health Care facility for Covid testing. He is balancing the budget with the senior center giving us no where to play.
We are over 60 members strong and cannot just go and seek another venue. Most of the time the charge to rent a hall is too high for the seniors to contribute.
I am appalled even that this is happening in the City of Loma Linda a city that has been recognized for healthy citizens and is embraced by the world as the well known Loma Linda Medical Center where many excellent doctors practice and new procedures in the medical field have originated.
If any of you have any insight on how we can have our Senior Center back in Loma Linda CA please let me know. I am writing a letter to council and also will use my 3 minutes at their council meeting as a start.
