He has no idea about very much, the hottest period
has passed 2 weeks ago, yet there has been 6 killed
in 4 days, he is responsible for the police, but scorns
them instead of backing them and recruiting more.

The Met Police have had so much bad publicity in
the past year, that many are leaving and nobody will
join, all the time the mayor makes derisive statements
about the police, which are his responsibility.

Yes he said this a few days ago.. he's since changed his mind and decided that the cause is longer days and school holidays!!!

The man has outstayed his welcome by about 1 day more than he's been in his job... he's a complete Idiot, and the Met police are a bunch of weak lily livered pathetic snowflakes under his watch

They used to make similar statements about violent crime in my area, but the maladjusted evildoers are now able to commit murder and other acts of mayhem no matter what the weather forecast.

The thing that concerns me most is that many of these violent crimes are being committed by tweenagers and young teenagers that don't seem to have any respect for human life or the consequences of their actions.

That is exactly what's happening here in our cities, Bea... 95 % of the violent crime is now carried out by the tweens.. and with our ridiculous law which carries very little jail time, these youngsters have very little to fear...

Yep, I am a believe in the Broken Windows Theory, for the most part. So long as enforcement and any punishment is reasonable.

Sounds like a typical politician, any fault he can find other than his own...

I remember the big city riots we had here back in the 60s, and I suspect heat was a contributor. It was in an era of no air conditioning and the heat caused a lot of people to be outside. In poor overcrowded cities that provided the crowds, many other conditions causes the riots, but I think heat was a contributor. No idea if that could be said of today's London.
 
Very few crimes are committed during a snowstorm. The better the weather for outside activities means better weather for crime. And yes, the majority of crime is done by males in their teens and 20s. We start aging out of crime in our 30s. It's what we do, and I don't know why. There's no easy answer to crime. Our understanding of crime is more what we don't know than what we do know.

well we've had a summer of 100 degree temps and NO AC in our homes.. but this violence among the young armed mostly with knives has been going on longer than this summer.. for at least 10 years now..
