Looking for a Used Playpen

I tried Craigslist with no luck. Where else could I look? I don't want to pay a lot. It's not for a child it's for my cats actually. Being typical cats they enjoy playing with their catnip toys. The problem is the dogs won't let them play in peace. They either give chase or steal the toy. I'm thinking we have a big basement and the pups don't go down there. So a kitty play yard, it would contain the toys and protect the cats. Suggestions?

If you're handy, chicken wire and PVC pipes are cheap. When I was fostering cats and kittens, I had my own cats and a dog. I built a chicken wire and PVC enclosure so that the "new kids" and the "resident kids" could be in the same room while safely getting acquainted. It rolled up nicely and stored away when not in use.

There are used consignment type stores by my house that sell used kids clothes, toys, strollers, cribs, etc. Maybe a place like that?

Thrift or consignment stores and even pawn shops may have a playpen. This area also has both a freecyle and garage sale sites. There are lots of things like that on facebook--but I'm not a knowledgeable facebook user, so no help on that.

Ebay has everything but I would try yard sales first. People getting rid of their kiddie stuff give the best prices IMHO. They just want to get rid of it fast and not have to drag it back into the house later.

Whoooooohooooooo! I was thinking consignment stores, too cold for yard sales right now. I remembered a store I used to shop when the kids were small. I pass it every day, then the light bulb went off. Children's consignment...bingo...I found an extra large playpen, bright purple my favorite color, for twenty bucks. Ninja smelled the catnip as I was setting it up. I threw in catnip covered toys and well...Ninja is ripped. Success!

My house cat goes outside in one of these she loves it. I move it all around the garden.

It was a dog playpen. To which I put a piece of wire fence on the top securely attached with more wire. I put Honey in via the door, shes on the grass most of the time or the back decking. If its a hot day I put a sheet over the top and it shades her. Mines about 6 x 6 and I got the playpen from a garage sale..Hope it helps.
