Sort of! I checked their location on the website, and starting pay ranges for $11.81 to $14/hr. That was as of October this year, though. A month ago...and probably changed since then because a sign at the door says $16/hr for stockers. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll mention pay. My experience has been that the guy who mentions money first loses

Nope. just "15 and older." I have to admit that the checkout clerks don't seem to last all that long. The good ones quit, or go to checkout clerk heaven, or something, and the poor ones seem to last a bit longer.

Yes. It's Dickensian but laws have been passed to allow 15 year olds to work to fill the labor shortage.

I started work at 15 years old... straight into a 40 hour week.

When I look at 15 year olds today, I think how young I was to be sent out to work , but at the time, I just accepted it as something that had to be done, to bring money for my parents..

Gotcha beat @hollydolly. I got my first job at 14. Granted, it wasn't 40/hours, but it was a job nevertheless. I was a carhop at a frozen custard stand. IIRC, I think I was paid 40 cents/hour plus tips.

I want so much to stop by the biscuit store tomorrow and give notice but...I gotta wait until the background check has been done and I have the offer letter in my hot little hands. Now that I know I'm going to leave, I just want to color myself gone (and my hair blue). I'm gonna go to work on my last day with blue hair. What can they do? Fire me? In the meantime, I dare not say one word to any of my co-workers because, as we know, loose lips sink ships.

Dear me. Kroger is gonna find out that I got a speeding ticket (7 miles over the limit) on my 40th birthday. Reckon that will disqualify me?
