Looney Tunes - Who Watched These?

I had as a kidling, a set of rubber/latex molds of the Looney
characters....I would mix up plaster of paris, dump it in the
mold, wait a few hours and peel off the mold, then had water
colors to paint them with.....kept me busy for hours.....

I have always loved the Looney Tunes characters, who I found far more radical, iconoclastic, and relatable than, say, the Disney characters. They have aged well over the decades, some surviving cultural purges (Speedy Gonzalez) and others not (Pepe LePew)…

We only got to see them if my father was working on a Saturday when they were on tv otherwise the Tv was his to watch and when he wasn't watching it was turned off,.. so we kids would see the Looney Tunes Cartoons at Saturday morning Matinee at the cinema...when we could sneak in the back door for free..

Loved them.. and I would watch them today except they've changed out of all recognition..

Never missed one, I think Looney Tunes was one favourite amongst many on Saturday mornings. During the week, years later with my new baby daughter, watched all over again along with The Flintstones. Yup with knew the lyrics by heart 🤣🤣🤣

There was a pop song in my teens that made it to the charts. I can't remember the title of the song or all the words, but it was about making out in a movie theater, and the one stanza that I can remember was, "We may stop lovin' to watch Bugs Bunny." (Eddie Cochran) The rest of the time was all about making out.

Am not a fan of some manipulative political correctness so yeah, love how Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd epitomize attitudes they will never be able to fully suppress.

I watched so much Looney Tunes that when the girls all started wearing those big false eyelashes the first thing I thought of were the Looney Tune girls.
