Lopsided Businesses

I have a dryer, but not a working washing machine.
Buy you a washer. You will spend more trying to fix the one you have than a new one.
Many years ago when I bought my condo I knew I would have to replace the washer and dryer. It was hard trying to find some that were not computer generated for everything. I finally bought a set that would do what I wanted them to do with the least computerized setup there was.

I already spent over $200 in repairs. The service tech said he couldn't guarantee his repair job and he was right. He added that as long as the appliance was in a damp cellar, it would continue to get rust inside.

No point in getting a new washer as long as the cellar is so damp. Anyway, a load at the laundromat is only $2 and I don't use my water or electricity or have to worry about maintenance.

One way - about 4 miles. It's in the next town. I spoke to the mayor once about getting a laundromat here and was told, "There will never be a laundromat here if I have anything to say about it." When I asked for an explanation the reply was, "It would attract 'undesirables'". I do not know how "undesirables" ties in with a laundromat unless it is people with dirty clothes that need washing.

$2 is a lot cheaper than the 10's of thousands it would cost to bring your house up to current standards.

No bars here, either, but that doesn't effect me. No zoning. Why have so many fast food places in such a small community and a lack of that is really needed? What's in town - 4 pizza/sub shops, post office, library, 2 gas stations/convenience stores and a funeral parlor.

There is a town in my county where the main road is just lined with fast food places. I'm sure there is a laundromat but yes, fast food seems to reign in people's lives.

My stepfather never got a washer/dryer for his mobile home. He uses the park facility which has a very nice and clean laundry room.

I worked with a woman who called a laundromat a "washeteria" I had never heard that term.
