Lost A Friend

Last night I found out from a lady friend that another friend of mine passed away. He's someone I cared about. He was one of the last men I had a close friendship with at one time. He had some serious problems like eating hardly anything. I had tried to encourage him to eat more.

I guess he went down hill pretty fast and died. He kept saying he was going to go to the hospital to get medical help but did not.

I feel pretty sad about him passing.

Sad to hear that Ruthanne, may he rest peacefully. Hugs.

Thank you Diva. I can't believe he's gone. Seems like I just saw him not long ago.
I know exactly how you feel. I lost one of my best friends, also male. We had graduated in the same class, worked in the safe office and despite some squabbles, were more like siblings. He had gone through dialysis and finally got a kidney. He loved to travel so was able to start doing that again. He seemed to be doing quite well. Next thing I know, he was in the hospital, then gone. I was devastated and It took me months for it to register. It will take time for you to truly believe it.

I had two more shockers involving online friends. One was a former classmate and we connected on Facebook. He'd call periodically just to say hi, maybe talk a little politics and about the good ole days. He and his wife seemed to have a great relationship and life, did some traveling. He called me two days before he passed and said "We have to keep up with each other" and posted on Facebook the morning he passed. I replied to him about something that day. Later when I saw in one of our groups that he had passed, I just couldn't believe it.

Another was my friend Woody. He was one of my first social networking friends from over 16 years ago. I didn't know he was sick. I saw a thread just titled with his screen name on the site we had both migrated to (not Facebook, though we were friends there too) and my dread was confirmed. I couldn't sleep for two nights and tried to wrap my brain around it for several weeks.

This is hard Ruthanne! I truly hope happy memories of your time together will bring you comfort. 🤗

Thanks. We did have some good times. I recall one time we were listening to music 🎶 at my place. He loved that song called Jealous Guy sung by Brian Ferry. We'd listen to it over and over while having a few shots of Southern Comfort.
