Lots of Time to Spare we have... What to do???

Well in these strange times that's going on in our world globally, we have lots of free time... Sure we could clean the house, or start our Spring Cleaning... or sit and watch TV... but over the years YOU mush have wanted to do something, and didn't have the time to do it... Well right now we all have time... So what are some of the things you wanted to do... but didn't have the time...

Two things, I wanted to do BIG time was learn how to play the spoons, and the banjo... So tomorrow, I'm going to start and try to learn to play the spoons...

What are your ideas for things to do...

I like to continue to learn new things or review the things I've learned before. I found a channel on tv that I am liking more and more and it's making me think a lot and not vegetate! It's the World channel on PBS. I still love tv but will also do the Spring cleaning.

Looks like I will get something done midweek..

It's spring and everything is sprouting. Lots of things to do in the garden now.
Ditto... it's a beautiful day today and will be sunny for the next few days, but unfortunately hubs and I are both still trying to get over the sickness lurgy which I went down with a few days ago, and he caught yesterday presumably from me, and he's been in bed since.

I'm out of bed, but not well enough to eat...so everything has to be on hold for a while.... .

I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope it isn't one of those re-curring bugs, which keeps coming back. I had that last year and I don't think it's quite left me yet.

That's exactly what I'm hoping too Rosemarie...it's been 5 days and I still can't eat or drink without feeling dreadfully nauseous ...I don't want to come across as miserable, but I already feel like I've had it for 5 weeks rather than 5 days.. feeling very sorry for myself, and now hubs..( who btw never gets ill) :(.

sorry just worked it out , it';s 4 days not 5... good grief I can hardly believe it's only been 4 days..

Spring cleaning. I guess more cleaning in the coming weeks as our cleaning company that comes every 2 weeks has decided not to come next week as we just got back March 10th from Clearwater Bay, Florida.

We have a ton of stuff to watch on tv. I have a ton of books to read despite the libraries being closed.

Sigh...this virus has sure changed our way of doing things right now and hopefully when it is all over that we will become for thankful of the things that we do have and that LIFE is precious.

Love....

That spoon playing sounds like fun. :D With me, it's not necessarily that I didn't have the time...it's more due to procrastination. Besides getting rid of the stack of papers on the studio room desk (doing the dreaded sort, file, shred thing) and the obligatory spring cleaning, I need to do some digital cleaning...getting rid of duplicate photos or ones I don't want to keep in both my Google photos and external hard drive. Same for other unnecessary items on my computer hard drive. I've also been meaning to write some product reviews on Amazon.

I intend to get back to my creative endeavors. It's time to start practicing the piano and hone my skills because I'm rusty. I will need the improved technique for enhancing my compositions. I'll take time to explore some of the rhythms and instrument voices on my Clavinova that I haven't used yet because that helps inspire my creativity. I'll use this time to ready my songs for engineering (by my son) then release them. I'll be working on new music on my own as well as looking forward to an upcoming collaboration with my son on a House music track. I have coloring books here that need coloring as well.

We are listening to some of the LP records that I still have. Most of them are from the 50s/60s. We are also listening to some of the CDs that I recorded about 17 years ago. I have recorded over 400 CDs over the years so I have much to listen to. My tastes run from good classical to traditional country (can't stand the modern "twangy" country) to easy listening like James Last & Roberto Delgado to older pop like Frank Sinatra, Chuck Berry, etc.

My constructive plans are cleaning, clearing, purging and organizing the house, drawer by drawer, cabinet by cabinet, closet by closet. Devoting an honest hour a day to that endeavor. Make it a marathon and I'll burn out and give up halfway through the first day. (I know myself.)

A couple of years ago I got 9/10 through a crocheted blanket, but had to quit because the osteoarthritis in my hands flared up terribly. I just came across the box containing everything, so I'm planning to finish that up. Crocheting is very relaxing.

I'm still working so a lot of my time is business as usual except that I'm taking anti-virus precautions seriously as I go about my day. If there IS a shut down/quarantine in my state and I'm forced to stay home, that gives Ron and I the uninterrupted opportunity to tackle the kitchen renovation and actually get all the new cupboards built and installed.

There are a number of other projects around the house that need work as well, like the back porch that sustained about 5 grand worth of damage in the recent Nashville tornado, and our driveway and parking area that gets flooded every time it rains heavily so we need to dig a trench? drain? I'm not sure, but Ron has the fix/solution all planned out, which involves renting some machinery that I am looking forward to learning how to run!!

On a personal level, I want to purge and streamline and reorganize my closet. It's all very tidy, because that's just the way I roll lol! But there's way too much stuff and I need pare down.

I also have a photo project...lots of photos of Ron and his family and me and my family that I really want to display. One of the walls in our Den is going to be our "wall of fame" with many photos pleasingly arranged there, but first I have to get everything gathered together, arranged, some re-framed, some newly framed...lots of organization before they actually go up on the wall.

I have so much computer work to do..just housekeeping and organization of my many files and saves and such on my desktop.

I also am writing a book <high five @Gary O'> that is still in its early stages...a couple chapters roughly written, the general outline etc. I'd love some uninterrupted time to get that rolling.

There's more.....but the above are what I want to tackle as a priority

I will not want for stuff to do if there's a shut down. I won't be bored that's for sure!!

Filet crochet. I'm making a set of curtains for my kitchen window right now. Starting flower seeds for my summer garden. A million other things to do but those are my favorites.
Please post a picture of your curtains once finished. I've crocheted all my life, but never had the patience to do filet curtains which I love. What got me into crochet in the first place was our "egg lady" who lived right up the road from us on a big farm.

She lived in an old farmhouse with the very tall, narrow windows and had crocheted filet curtains for every window in her house. They were exquisite in my opinion. She taught me, and I, in turn, taught my Mom at my ripe old age of 9. I felt quite important to be able to teach my Mother, who seemed like she could do everything under the sun, something so useful.

Living in the boondocks, it seems like I never run out of things to do. With this rather wet Winter, I've got gobs of outdoor stuff lined up as soon as things start drying out a bit. I've just about caught up on indoor projects, so I need to get out and start getting some yard work done. The grass is starting to green up nicely, and yesterday we had a half dozen deers munching in the yard....Perhaps I need to hire them until I can get the mower out.

I work p/t through the week, so that takes some of my time. I also have mess of computer stuff that needs done. I, like others, have a lot of pictures on my computer to put into files.

I will do some exercising and wife and I will dance to some old rock.
