Lung Cancer Or Seizures?? Which Do You Prefer??

According to a very active TV Commercial directed at SMOKERS that want to or can't quit smoking. If you take this particular med it is designed to kill the urge to smoke but you may run the risk of getting seizures. Damned if you do & damned if you don't eh?

My grandmother smoked until she was about 85 and then we had to stop her from it because she had dementia and would light up and burn holes in her clothes. But anyways she never got any sort of cancer, I guess some don't, too.
 
I'd just quit smoking like I did over 30 years ago cold turkey, instead of relying on harmful pharmaceutical drugs with side effects that often are worse than the condition they're supposed to treat.

Is there ANY of these prescription drugs that don't have potential side effects that are as bad, or worse, than the condition they are supposed to treat?
 
Am I allowed to mention the brand? Chantix...While I still fear lung cancer as an ex-smoker...Taking Chantix makes other illnesses sound almost tolerable...

Actually Chantixx is quite effective. Although I was not successful in quitting with Chantixx,it was the only drug that had any effectiveness at all.

Using Chantixx I was able to go without a cigarette for more than three months. I did have some very vivid dreams and quite enjoyed them. The drug helped me tremendously in breaking the physical addiction to nicotine, unfortunately the psychological addiction was much stronger and beat me.

I went on several years later to stop cold turkey and as of today approximately two years have been successful. I still haven't broken the addiction as I struggle every single day to stay nicotine free!
 
All drugs have a trade-off. Benefit outweigh risk. We have become very reliant on medications anymore, they may help us live longer, how much longer, who knows. I have taken different things-especially cholesterol-lowering drugs, I simply cannot take them due to side effects. I feel this way about it, if the side effects are too risky or if the drug makes me feel sick, I am not taking it.

I'd take my chances and light up a smoke healthiest choice there
 
It's like the ED drugs with nasty possible side effects. The last thing you'll be thinking about is getting frisky.
