A machete attack in Ohio by a Somali national, a Mohamed Barry. Shot and killed by police after injuring several people. A lone wolf terrorist attack being investigated as a possible motive. Suspect traveled to Dubai and UAE in 2012. Owner of restaurant an Israeli.

Suspect actually tried to get away in a car, short chase, refused to cooperate, eventually shot.
 

Could you all at least get your geography straight? Dubai is a city in the UAE. I fly through there all the time. In fact, over 58 million people flew through Dubai in 2015 - more than Heathrow in London. Never heard they were training terrorists in any of hundreds of the posh high rise hotels there. And Somalia is in Africa, not the Middle East.

I think we need new legislation banning these terrible machetes too Ike! Background checks will help, after all, most people who kill with these things are likely felons. I say we get rid of all of them! :p

Get rid of the felons or machetes girl ? :)

I saw the other day where a fella got beat to death by a guy with a hammer for bumping tummies with his wife......that will probably lead to background checks at Home Depot and Lowe's.

Machetes of course, the people are not at fault, just the weapon used! I think only small hammers should be available with proof of need.

I was watching a documentary yesterday about a family of Inuit back in the 1800's who were taken to Europe from Labrador, to be exhibited in a zoo, by a white 'entrepeneur. They died there within a year and their skeletons were later exhibited in a French museum. They were seen as things, curiosities to display for white entertainment. Currently, the people of their community are trying to get their bones back for proper burial.

Haiti was a slave colony 'owned' by the French until about 1800 and the slaves suffered the most terrible atrocities that I'm pretty sure, American black slaves could tell you all about, at the hands of their white owners.

Christopher Columbus should have been renamed the Monster of Italy (or Spain as you prefer) and almost if not entirely, obliterated an entire race of indigenous people. He was also white.

White crusaders went to the ME and slaughtered Muslims in their quest to protect the Holy Land.

India was over run and controlled by Great Britain (whites) who felt that their superiority made all things and all attitudes acceptable.

More recently, the Pentagon(predominantly a bunch of white guys) decided that it was their 'right' to destabilize the ME and the result was Afghanistans most recent destruction, then Iraq, then Libya......

The point I was making was based on historical perspectives. While some people of Arab descent are currently making life miserable in that region (and trying to spread out to other parts of the world) through various means, white people have historically, also done their share of brutalizing. Maybe what we're seeing here is karma in action.

Except there is much talk of funding for ISIS coming out of Saudi Arabia and the UAE (as well as Qatar). And if the Saudi's are making little if any effort to shut down that funding, then isn't it worth including in the discussion that the guy with the machete was in that country? Obviously some there are sympathetic to the dogma of ISIS. And let's not forget that the supposed plane hijackers of 9/11 were carrying Saudi passports.

As for him being a Somali national, well I guess he travelled to Dubai where he may have made contact with those who are sympathetic to ISIS. Isn't Somalia a Muslim country?

Somalia is indeed a muslin country, the majority being of the Sunni faction.

True. But my point is that saying someone went to Dubai doesn't automatically peg them as a terrorist or I and many millions would be terrorists.

Yes, Somalia is Muslim but my point was many people have no idea which countries are in the Middle East. Just like they say all Arabs are Muslims and all Muslims are Arabs. People should get their facts straight instead of just repeating the hate phrases about Islam.
 
Well, see, we in America go to other countries and kill 'all nice and purdy like'.... with something called DRONES... Just think...we can kill so many people, men, women, little children...and not dirty our lily white conscience or hands... Why, we don't even SEE who we are 'eliminating so nicely....
But of COURSE, we kill justifiably!!...in the name of 'god and country' and 'protecting our freedom'.... So its all good.:)

Aye! And, of course, every single Muslim is a terrorist so it's okay. Yep, all 1.6 Billion are terrorists. But I'm baffled as to why if there are so many that the rest of us aren't dead???
