Made Peace With Next Door Neighbors

Hubby's brother and then my dogs. This woman has lived here a long time. The dogs were the most recent to terrorize her. I didn't realize it for a long time. Her driveway is level with our highest yard point. Sophie...chicken dog that she is...looks pretty big and scary with her wild bark.

Callie doesn't have to say a word. But I get it now. When our cat Levon died this woman picked up his shattered body and put it aside so my daughter wouldn't be upset. I'm returning the favor now. If she pulls in her driveway all I have to do is go out and threaten my pups with death.

They run in with tails between legs. I lock the door and neighbor can take her time getting in her house. I would love to give her a big hug. Crap the first year we had Callie he escaped and nipped her. But she didn't press charges G-d Bless...He's changed and she's become more accepting:love_heart:

Holy crap! I think you and I would have some problems if we were neighbors.
There is no way in hell I would tolerate my neighbors dog harassing me every time I pulled into my drive.
Dog owners (lovers/apologists) do not seem to realize that others do not need to love your animal, they do not need to put up with any bad behavior by your animal.

We owned a Doberman GSD mix. This dog was the sweetest animal in the world. One of our cats had kittens and he midwifed, taking each newborn licking it clean and carrying it to the closet. This dog let our toddlers climb on him ride him and generally torment him. We had total trust in this dog. Now if you were not part of the family or a stranger arriving at our house, Rufus was a snarling biting attack machine. My wife always refused to see this side of him because she was blinded by love and loyalty.
Your dog would have been gone at that first "nip". BITE it was a Bite not a nip.
Bully breed owners in their blind advocacy refuse to recognize the true nature of these beasts. You can display all the pictures of pitties licking babies that you want to. The fact remains that these dogs were bred to be vicious fighting machines. The vast majority of these dogs were bred by irresponsible young men to bolster their appearance of machoness. There is zero regard to genetics or training. These dogs are sleeping time bombs waiting to go off.
I am a dog lover, we lost our last girl a few months ago, this is the first time in forty years that we have not had muddy prints and hair all over the house.

I know I am a hard ass about this, but put yourself in your neighbors shoes!

No when I'm not home the dogs don't go out. But I didn't realize what was happening out there. Sophie is old but she can leap and has an obnoxious bark. Callie has a serious growl but can't leap or bark. I didn't know what was happening. If I sit with them and she pulls in " Let's GO!" and they come in with me, no problem. The same thing with the kids in the other yard.

The really sad thing is that Callie adores women and children. Men not so much but women or children and his whole body wags. But behind a fence he can't see them. He was scaring those kids with the growl. If they were up close to him...he might lick them a lot but he's a gentle guy. He is a total ladies' man with any female he meets.
