Why do female shirts have buttons on the left side while male shirts have buttons on the right side???

What about the poor "Southpaws" in the world? Don't they have any rights?

Lefties have a rough time as it is; writing, eating etc.

When we had our identical twin boys, I always handed them their spoons into their RIGHT hands and they turned out OK

as right handers with no psychological problems. I didn't do ANYTHING else to make sure.

Now, since TV, I'm beginning to see lots of well known peeps trying to sign their names with their left hands.

Honestly, It's a different world for them.

Since I posted this I did some search and just found out women's zippers are also different!!!!!

Yeah, I agree with Holly.

Then you have the Amish, who get around the whole thing by not using buttons OR zippers. Clothes are held together by hook and eye fasteners. The women's dresses come in pieces (skirt, top, apron) and the whole thing is held together with straight pins. Ouch.

Thats right. We live close to the Amish and Mennonites. They are very friendly folk and interesting but yes, their reasoning for why they do things can be ‘way out there’.

It’s taken you a while to catch on huh Ken.
Your wife must have been quite amused with your discovery

I tend to believe it's purely for weapon -drawing for the guys and breast feeding for the gals. Wealthy, titled people of both sexes were dressed by servants. Men had their valets, body-servants whatever they're called. Women had they're lady's maids. Heck, Prince Charles still needs help, or so I read.

Sometimes I will wear a man's shirt over a tank top because I like the button pockets which are very convenient if I want to go somewhere without my purse.

I wish women's pants would automatically come with pockets, the way men's do.

I am more and more committed to NOT taking my purse on normal everyday errands.

I always look for slacks and capris with side pockets and I have bought most of mine at Kohl's.
But the last time I was at the store, I noticed some of the newer inventory are without pockets.
I bet that is to save cost. Just yesterday at Target, I bought a sleeveless blue jean type vest
with two top and two side pockets [$13], so I can wear it over a no pockets tight-fitted top.
Last year at Kohl's I bought a men's sleeveless flannel shirt with two large buttoned pockets
for the same purpose [clearance price was under $10.]
