Reminded me of one of my favorite "Twilight Zone" episodes ("Hocus Pocus & Frisbee")
This guy had to be the center of attention, so he constantly told tall tales of his accomplishments & adventures. Everyone laughed at him & had fun with him.
Then he was kidnapped & taken aboard a space ship with martians from another planet. He escaped & told his story but nobody believed him.

He escaped by using his harmonica.
