Maple Leaves

My grandson got to experience that for the first time yesterday, we launched the seeds into the air too! (Fascinating, almost seem designed instead of…….) What’s great about a grandchild is you can sort of re-do some of the things you might have neglected while raising your own kids. Time was sometimes short as was my energy level. Simple stuff instead of electronic stuff is going to be my M.O. with them.

My neighbor a few doors down has an enormous maple and it discharges seeds far and wide, including nearby houses and rain gutters and another neighbor's pool.

We forget that kids are a blank page. It's their first time at everything. We have to give them the memories, so that they can pass them on to their kids.

absolutely "designed" to do what they do... they don't have legs, so need some way to travel for a place to grown.

Yup, maple keys .. we would throw them as far up as we could, and watch them helicopter down.

I didn’t fully explain him playing in the massive pile of leaves before we moved onto the “keys.” Growing up it seemed every year some jackass would hide in the pile until us younger kids dove on it at the encouragement of his partners in crime.
