Yow- a friend of mine convinced me to try these Bob Evans mashed potatoes about 3 months ago- and I was glad I did because, being alone ,a 5 pound bag of fresh potatoes often deteriorates when there are 5 or more left.

But last week I bought 5 pounds of fresh white potatoes, instead, because I like potato salad this time of year and also homemade home fries.

Also I make a delicious fresh potato casserole, thin sliced raw potatoes and a cream sauce with a topping of brown butter ( “beurre noisette) mixed with bread crumbs. I often put scallions into it and/or mushrooms, or leftover pork or ham.

Brown butter is simply made by heating butter until it starts to turn brown. It has a far different taste than putting a piece of regular butter
on veggies ,broiled fish, or meat.

The Bob Evans potatoes were very good and seemed to last for almost two weeks for me, but I better let my friend know.

Thanks much- !!!!!!!

I thought everyone just made their own mashed potatoes.

Isn't this a bit like buying instant scrambled eggs?? I mean, who in their right mind would buy that?
