Lionsgate Brings Back Mask Mandates in Office​

A Hollywood studio has instituted a mask mandate for its employees in light of the current COVID wave. Lionsgate sent an email to staff asking them to mask up on certain floors of its Santa Monica office after several employees caught the virus. The studio is also asking employees to conduct self-screening before coming to the office.

While this is obviously just one office of one studio, the move comes amid some national buzz about whether mask mandates might be returning as variant EG.5 has become dominant in the United States.

ATLANTA (WUPA) -- Atlanta-based Morris Brown College has announced that the school is reinstating its Covid mask mandate for the next two weeks as a result of positive cases at the Atlanta University Center.

The historically black college posted a note on its official Instagram account noting that the protocols would be in effect for the next 14 days. This includes a requirement for mask-wearing by students and employees, physical distancing, contact tracing, and other significant efforts to reduce the spread of Covid-19 among the population on the Atlanta campus.

Upstate Medical’s two hospitals, University and Community General, reimposed mandatory face-masking Thursday morning after reporting an uptick in Covid-19 cases.

Covid testing is now also required for all patients being admitted to the hospitals, according to a memo sent to Upstate staff and provided to Syracuse.com.

“Effective immediately, mandatory masking is required by all staff, visitors, and patients in clinical areas of Upstate University Hospital, Upstate Community Hospital, and ambulatory clinical spaces,” the memo reads. “Clinical areas are defined as any location patients gather, wait, transport through, or receive care. Masking is strongly recommended in all non-clinical areas.”

I believe that hospitals and medical facilities have never dropped masking in some states but not here. So far no local announcements here. How about where you are?
 

I haven't stopped. I guess I just don't want to get sick. I'm still wearing them at work. We had active covid cases in the building and there is no mandate to wear a mask and most weren't.

I just don't want a booster mandate to come back.

I hear that about the boosters, Remy.

For everyone, wear a mask, don't wear a mask, IMO it's all good as long as it's your choice.
 
Not in my lifetime will I wear one of those masks to stop a virus...they cannot stop a virus! I took Microbiology in college, and I have a very clear understanding of the size of viruses and how masks don't work.

It is amazing how many people are led by fear, while ignoring science...
 
Wearing a mask caused me to sneeze every time I put one on. Where is the sense in going around a store sneezing cause you sneeze at your old breaths. How many times do you have to sneeze into your mask to take it off and blow your nose with a clean hanky, sure its sterile. .... Haha ....I didn't have a problem with the stabs. Just got 2 last week. New flu shot and Shingles vaccine. The Shingles stab hurts some. Insurance covers their costs.

I see singles wearing masks all the time. It sort of reminds me of an old Condom joke.

TBH people don't even know what science is anymore due to all the censorship but fear has been a powerful motivator and will be more so as the U.S. goes into an election year. :(
 
I always wondered from the Beginning Why Fauci and Dr. Brix didn't have more to do than stand and blab with The Donald?
Was it Entertaining for them? Were they trying to kill me with Laughter? .....haha..... Every time they would try to say something the Donald would interrupt them.

Most likely the number one spreader of disease is airplane flights daily. 150,000 takeoffs, thousands in the air every hour of the day 7/7's. Tens of millions of people constantly moving between States, Countries, Continents every day all day. Will/Does Population Density create the Lemming effect ?

We (the huddled masses) were not led by fear, but by mandate.
 
In regions where infections were to rise to levels we saw during the pandemic, mandatory masks ought be required in hospitals, medical clinics, senior assisted living homes, some schools, and some public government buildings. Otherwise given political and propaganda nonsense on these issues, should be voluntary putting the consequences where it ought be on individuals that deserve whatever happens or doesn't.
 
Masks are fine as long as a person's choice.... the masks lost any tiny effectiveness when touched over and over and shoved into a pocket etc .... it was a feel good placebo effect with no real effectiveness. Now people revert back to item proven ineffective or not to "show" they are doing something.

If a place of business or school decides to ask people to mask up again most likely the horse is out of the barn already and a few cases could be more masks or NOT. Often by the time a person has symptoms or tests they have already had contact with any regular co-worker etc....

Even though masks don't work to protect against VIRUSES! As they are so small they will pass through a mask like a fly through a chain link fence!

I think you are confusing those with doggy training pads where the blue side goes against the floor and absorbent white side goes up. These are closely related to surgical masks since they only work if your dog uses them properly. If he chooses to do his duty somewhere else, the pads will not be as effective.

I saw that. It was all supposed to be to get back to normal and those who said they would never allow normal again were labeled conspiracy theorists but they were right. They don't want normal back. They want the power that a constant state of fear and emergency laws brings them.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
 
I had been exposed multiple times to covid. Up close and personal. But I wore an N-95 and a face shield. (those things are really fun). I didn't get covid until an exposer when we had no face shields in the building. Ticked me off. Actually I was told there were some hidden in some spot after the fact, instead of out and readily available. I guess the people responsible for stocking needed that extra smoke break instead of putting out the things we needed. It was also that one highly contagious varient. I don't know if the face shield would have made a difference or not.

an N95 and shield is an entirely different then the masks most were and are using.
 
You can shake in fear all you like and wear a thousand masks but the earthquakes will still go on, world will still be heating up and hey, didn't I see on the news about floods down there in "Sunny California"?

The fear mongers are back and they are not happy until your unhappy!
 
A friend of mine went for a test a few days ago. She said the tech lady was coughing the entire time. She claimed it was her allergy. Clearly that woman should have stayed home or at least worn a mask. I told my friend that I would have requested another tech.

Re the OP: I haven't heard of any mask mandates (again) in Jersey yet.
