I just looked her up. At the height of her career, she was considered the most beautiful woman in the world. She was a great actress. I loved how the sparks flew between her and John Wayne in McLintock.

One of my first teen "loves". Unrealistic, romanticised, and naive, I still loved the movies back then.

I loved Maureen O'Hara's films. She starred in my fave Christmas film, Miracle on 34th Street. Her sincerity in the film makes me weep every time I see it. Even now. Ditto How Green Was My Valley. I really loved her classic beauty and easy elegance. She was one of a kind.

I loved watching her ,while growing up, especially if she is in a John Wayne movie.
