I know that Maisie has a lot of friends here and that
you would like to know that she has had a fall and
broken her hip.

She is in Hospital and should have had an operation
sometime today.

She is in the Leicester Royal Infirmary ward 32 if anyone
would like to send her a card, the hospital has an online
service Here.

Mike.

Thanks for letting us know Mike. I'm so sorry to hear that Maywalk is in the hospital with a broken hip. I wish her the best and hope her surgery goes smooth and she has a complete recovery. I would like to send her a card with that link, but it seems you need to provide her full name and I don't know that. Please send it to me via PM if you don't think she'd mind. Please keep us updated on her condition.

Thanks, Mike. Her son, Barry, has posted her info on her Facebook page.

My mother had a broken hip, same age as Maisie. She recovered and did well, but it took quite some recuperation/rehab time.
I'm hoping there will be arrangements made to care for Cliff because Maisie will not be able to do everything as she has been doing.

Update.

Posted by Maisies son on her FaceBook Page yesterday.

Latest update

Mum had her operation at 8:30 this morning. She was admitted back to the ward at around 2:30 this afternoon.
She was a little groggy with all the drugs pumped inrto her. She was cheerful and in no where near the pain she
was in from the fractures. Yes plural. The pelvis was chipped some where, the hip joint broken and part of the leg
bone broken, hence the 3 hours 20 minutes surgery. She has had an enormous amount of the email cards from you
all and that has really cheered her right up.

She should have her iPad up and running in the next 48 hours so you will be able to _talk_ to her as per normal.

Another update:

Maisie is back on line, so she will probably be here in the next few days.

Here is a copy of a post she put in to another forum in the UK.

Hello everyone.
many thanks for the lovely messages that came to the hospital and on the forum.
Not very good trying to write on the IPad because it’s awkward trying to get a
comfortable position. I have the physio therapists coming tomorrow to start getting
my leg moving. At the rate I am going I will be running the Marathon next year.
Having said that I think I would be better of in a carpenters shop because with all
the screws ,nails and pins I have in both hips I would make a good advert for one.

Thankyou all again for the super messages and good wishes. God Bless You All.
I will call in again

from the Bionic Biddy.

Maisie has a most wonderful outlook on life ...... at least she does in public. With all she has to deal with, you know there must be some serious "down times".
