McDonald's rounding cash transactions as some locations run short of pennies

It's a good system, isn't it? I only get 5% back if I shop at Sams which isn't that often, but 2-3% cash for gas, groceries, etc.. It adds up quicker than people realize.
It’s a great system. We pay for all our bills with it and it sure adds up. We love getting paid for paying our bills and shopping expenses.

Back before I used credit cards almost exclusively, I'd get to the end of the week and say, "Where the heck did all my money go?"

With credit cards, I know. There's a place on the bank website that I can make a note about the transaction and I do that frequently.

Sometimes the transaction shows up under an altogether different name. I'll see a charge for ABC Enterprises and wonder what the heck that was for. Then I'll check and see that it was for "Pete's Cafe" where I had lunch.

If I make that notation when it first shows up, then I don't have to rack my brains a month down the line trying to remember what it was for.

Speaking of nearly useless coins....the Turkish Kurus (which is pronounced kur-roosh) is a denomination worth 1/10 of a lira, which is their "dollar". So, in other words, the Turkish dime. There were 1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 Kurus coins.

I have a 1/100 Kurus, which is about the size of a small pea. What it's used for, I was told, is to reconcile official bank transactions when it comes to percentages. If a bank transfer or payment or whatever came out to 5,000,000.0003 Lira, nobody would say, "Oh, forget it, you can pick up the next one!" Oh, no, someone would have to dig in the bottom of the bag and fork over three 1/100 Kurus coins.

Sounds silly, but who am I to tell people how to do business?
