McD's

Recently, I went to McDonald's and I saw on the menu that you could have
an order of 6, 9 or 12 Chicken McNuggets.

I asked for a half dozen nuggets.

'We don't have half dozen nuggets,' said the teenager at the counter.

'You don't?' I replied.

'We only have six, nine, or twelve,' was the reply.

'So I can't order a half dozen nuggets, but I can order six?'

'That's right.'

So I shook my head and ordered six McNuggets.

(Unbelievable but sadly true...)

(And they think they are worth $15.00 per hour)

Actually, I'm not surprised due to some of the things I've read lately. Many wouldn't be able to figure out the change if the cash register broke down.

Obviously someone who works in McD's may not have completed school, and therefore does not know basic arithmetic. Yes, even in this day and age, there are people born in the USA and Canada who do not know how to read, write or count. And there are others who came from third world countries who do not know because they never had the opportunity to go to school. McDs hires these people because the job doesn't require much education, just willingness to work at a crummy job for very little pay.

I was in someone's car when they drove thru McD few weeks ago. Clerk said McNugget sizes are 6, 10, and 20.

However, I believe the teen didn't know half dozen = 6. I had something similar happen at a store (the person didn't know 50% is half.)
