Yes, I REALLY understand as to being old. I, too am an elderly person and a few annoying problems, ... but non-life-threathening illness, just I need to work around to find an right med which is not easy at all. I accept my old age and need to continue if I want to live further. I believe you are in same boat.I am OK now. Sucks getting old. But here we are

Making sure 'bacteria' travel NOT into the Kidney. If it'd happen, there must be more complication.I've got a raging bladder infection. Can't get to the clinic but ordered D-Mannose and a strong additional cranberry supplement. They should arrive today.
Pain is off the charts, and getting no sleep, but no blood.
Thank you, Holly.someone wrote this on the Mayo clinic UTI discussion forum.... if it helps
''I take 2000mg D-Mannose twice a day, first with lots of water before coffee, the weaker the better or just drink more water first, It doesn't exactly flush toxins, it is a safe sugar that coats the bladder making it nearly impervious to bacteria. BUT that is not enough for me. Look up Methenamine. I take one in morning after breakfast and one at bedtime. It's not exactly an antibiotic; you could think of it as a sanitizer against bacteria.
Either way, it has worked for me for 10 months now, with only one infection UTI after a long place trip when I likely did not drink enough water. I also have cut down diet coke to one small glass a day with ice to dilute it, and drink no lattes, no alcohol. Twice I had a glass of wine but only after plenty of water.''

You can go to Urgent Care which opens 7 days a week, until mid-night where I live. But, I don't know where you live.I've got a raging bladder infection. Can't get to the clinic but ordered D-Mannose and a strong additional cranberry supplement. They should arrive today.

Thanks, Amanda! Problem is my entryway and driveway conditions, and the road conditions. My health provider will come to me but I'm just too tired to clean house for her and otherwise mess with it.You can go to Urgent Care which opens 7 days a week, until mid-night where I live. At age 83 you posted, needs some assistance. Uber or other transportation?
Maybe, you'd better to post a new thread for more attention. Some of this forum folks who are familiar with bladder infection respond to it, ... but it's up to you.
I don't think the doctor care about the condition of your house. She knows your are an elderly person with raging bladder infection. Thanks, Amanda! The supplements arrived yesterday. Taking them religiously. Difficult to pass urine around the swelling.
But I think I'll live, can always get help if I don't improve.

Call her again to come to your house and get a medical help from her.
Thanks for compliment.Oh, I will. I just want to give these supplements a chance to work.
You are very sweet, Amanda.
I agree with this. Please take good care of yourself by calling before you get any worse. You'll heal better if you start sooner. In addition, you shouldn't be suffering.I don't think the doctor care about the condition of your house. She knows your are an elderly person with raging bladder infection.

Thanks Kaila! I'm listening, but I think I'm improving. The constant need to pee is the same or increased (probably from increased water intake) but the pain and swelling is reduced and fluid output increased). Anyway, I'll be careful and get help if I don't continue to improve.I agree with this. Please take good care of yourself by calling before you get any worse. You'll heal better if you start sooner. @gruntlabor
D-mannose in my experience, was helpful, more for prevention,
but most likely is not enough with an already raging infection.
