Meat meals, how often?

How often do you eat meat and what type red mammal meat, bird meat, fish meat? I eat red mammal meat maybe twice a month, mostly on road trips, bird meat as in chicken or turkey maybe 3 or 4 times a week, and fish due to high costs maybe twice a month with farm bred tilapia the most recently.

New study shows nearly 80% of Gen Z shares this one dietary habit — and it’s growing in popularity

The research supports these choices. One study showed that if the biggest meat-eaters in the United Kingdom simply switched to low-meat diets, the overall impact would be equivalent to taking 8 million gas-powered cars off the road.

At least one group, however, seems to have little interest in flexitarian diets. Men aged 50 to 65, a group that makes up less than 12% of the total population, are responsible for half of the total beef consumption in the United States — a choice that has devastating consequences for their health and the health of our planet.

When I was in my late 40s, I worked for a giant tech corp that had on all campuses, fancy food cafeteria services. For five years at frequent group lunches ate a fair amount of red meat each day. Began to have arthritis in my finger knuckles. As soon as I left that company and went back to my more common vegetable oriented meals, my finger arthritis stopped worsening and has remained about the same for over nearly 2 decades.

Never really thought about it much... but on reflection red meat once a week.. chicken and fish for about 5 days in various meals...always there's a day when I don't eat meat at all.. ..I suffer from OA in my fingers and now in my knees..

Never any organ meat. Red meat no more than once per week. Mostly chicken, fish (North Atlantic) and once a week a steak on the grill.

I eat meat every day. Beef once a week, some elk(till it runs out), very occasionally some bacon or ground pork sausage, no lamb unless out. One of my favorite dinner's out is chile relleno and beans - so no meat. Fish/shrimp 1-2x/week, turkey occasionally(ground or thighs) and the bulk of the meat we eat is chicken. I probably eat 9-12 eggs/wk.

Poultry daily. I eat beef more to build muscle because I'm on that kick right now and beef is great for muscle building. I don't eat any other red meat but have ham sometimes. No lamb, venison, or pork. I even eat chicken sausages which tastes just as good to me. :)

The household habit... Yeah, chicken (turkey on those particular holidays, if with those folks), fish (mostly salmon). Salmon is reasonably priced here because there are major salmon fisheries along our coast. Occasionally cod or halibut. We like tilapia and we buy it when we can get it — breaded & sautéed, to me it tastes like halibut or even trout.

Fish or chicken at least twice a week. Red meat happens mostly when at someone's place and they've cooked some in a soup or stew. We take iron, B12, and folic acid tablets.

Not nearly as much Americans. Tho haven't counted, no set pattern to it tho often if i have eggs or some meat for breakfast i have no meat later. I was never a big meat eater tho game to try ost anything as a kid. I've eaten mammal, fowl, and fish. (Do oysters and clams count?). Definitely an omnivore but meats a smaller % of total intake than what many others eat.

When younger, often living in warmer climates i tended toward fresh veggies and fruit for bulk of intake and small servings of some kind of meat at one meal daily.

Now living in climate that's cool to very cold some 8 months of year we eat a lot of stews and casseroles that may have 1 lb of ground or chopped up bits of beef or pork. Each dish makes a minimum of two meals for each of us and in mid-winter i make more mostly by adding more veggies and we get 3 servings a piece. I really enjoy ham and lima bean soup, also legume soups with just a few small bits of meat.

I tend to listen to my body. Sadly some raw veggies i was quite fond of most of life no longer sit well with my digestive tract, so i only allow myself to have them if get very strong craving.

I don't eat a lot of meat. I don't know why. I used to love the stuff as a kid. Or at least I think I did. As I got older I had less of a desire for it. Not sure if it's from dealing with raw meat so much when I cooked for a living. *Shrugs* Been trying to eat more for the protein.

They've been marketing them as "house crickets."
Okay, I found one reference that went into some detail. Apparently Loblaws, a supermarket chain, is willing to test market a cricket-meal or "flour". As the reference put it, "Canadians have to move beyond the “ick” factor and embrace the health value." I believe it would be a hard sell. Loblaws has no franchises near me, so I can't ask a stock manager.

I'd guess that 99% of Canadians haven't heard of this leap in the dark, commerce/investment-wise. It seems more likely that some U.N. agency might be willing to explore it for protein supply to underdeveloped countries. I remember reading, back in the '70s, that there was a product being called "multi-purpose food" which was developed for that kind of application. Don't remember the protein ingredient.

Every now and then, I definitely eat more fish. I also like meat/fish free meals and am getting quite good at vegetarian dishes.

Once a day at lunch, generally whatever little bit of meat is in whichever frozen dinners were on sale (usually chicken, sometimes beef, sometimes beans/chickpeas/lentils/cheese).

I almost always choose beef if I'm at a restaurant or picnic (such as a hamburger or steak), but that doesn't happen very often.

Now I have a hankering to buy a little pot roast and make it in the slow cooker, I haven't had that for a couple years.
