Media Literacy: What is it?

Agreed. Sort of. But when you're locked into the algorythm, your "cross reference" sites can also easily be curated without your knowing. Not to mention, I'm not sure how many people even bother. :D
Yeah, I wish more people would bother, but I did do a search: "A media literacy class teaches students how to access, analyze, evaluate, and create media in various forms, helping them understand the influence of media on their thoughts and behaviors. It promotes critical thinking skills, enabling students to make informed decisions about the information they consume and create."

So maybe we can be hopeful.

The problem I have with algorithms - or, I should say, the problem they have with me, is that I don't stay in one box. That seems to be a particular problem when it comes to politics, but also entertainment and the arts. I really enjoy animated shorts by independent artists, and I watch a lot of them. But who's in my list of recommendations?...Disney and anime. There's SO much more out there than those two. I do find them, and it isn't that hard. But, yeah, the algorithm keeps pushing the big money-makers.

I watched a video today. It was a hit piece on EBT recipients. The "host" or rather video maker, looked to be, perhaps 18. He was suitably outraged, angry, and opinionated. That, at his age, he can't possibly understand the topic, goes without saying.

He also had a bad haircut.

Just saying.

LOL
