Median Age of Death from Covid is OLDER than Average Life Expectancy

This bit of news may get some people's panties in a bunch simply because Tucker Carlson is reporting it. For many of us, however, it's the story, not the reporter, so here goes:

“The data shows that the medium age of death for Covid is often older than life expectancy,” he said. “For real. If you want to get a sense at just how completely they have hyped this virus, turning it into something that the numbers show it is not, take a look, for example, at Ohio.”
He showed the medium age of death from Covid-19 in Ohio is 80 while the average life expectancy in the state is 73. That means that people dying from Covid lived longer than one can expect to live in the state without getting the disease. He continued to show numbers from other parts of the country as well as the United Kingdom. All of the numbers, including the national numbers, showed that throughout 2020 the medium Covid-19-attributed death was higher than what an average person can expect to live.
So, if this is the case (and it looks like it is), which is wrong covid death age or life expectancy? I can tell you with certainty that life expectancy is carefully calculated as a byproduct of actuarial science. Similary, covid deaths have been clearly hyped and fudged, since we know the extent to which the CDC kept changing the rules. If true, and I am not saying it is yet, some need to rethink this screw-up, especially with respect on how to paint something as being worse that it really is.

Come on Jon, you often poke holes in other people's numbers yet you don't point out that average life expectancy has nothing to do with the average age of death. It seems hypocritical for you to post this when you have attacked far stronger analysis of other things that seem to go against your beliefs in the past.

If you have friends who're actuaries, you might want to consult with them on this.

Edit Note: I should have also pointed out that median age is not the same as average age. Mean (average), median and mode are three different statistical or data measures.

I noticed the age factor early on. And I remember that, for several months in 2020, suddenly the age of people who died from covid was being omitted on publicized reports. The excuse was "protecting identity" but I thought it was kind of intriguing.
"Protecting identity" is as lame as an excuse can get, since it has nothing to do with age. They think people are a flock of ignorant sheep who will believe anything.

Here's another clue on how to inflate/deflate death counts.:

A county in northern California announced last week that it revised the method in how it registered coronavirus deaths that led to a 22% drop in its death toll, a report said. Santa Clara County had been tallying anyone who died with the virus as a COVID-19 death, even if it did not play a role. But the county now says that in order for a death to be attributed to the virus, the disease needs to be listed as contributing the cause of death, the Mercury News reported.

Along this same line of thinking, it has been on the wires that Singapore is scrapping its daily covid counts and will treat it just like the flue (which it is). I am sure you know Singapore is no stranger to infectious diseases (e.g., dengue fever, malaria conjunctivitis, river blindness, and an array of vertigo-like illnesses such as neuritis and Meniere's disease among many others.).
