Medical Alert System Without monthly payment

Hi There,

I have been using alert1 for awhile, but recently my liabilities increase as my daughter suddenly got divorce. I am not sure how long will this last, but I plan to replace my mom's medical alert to the one without monthly subscription fee. I am fine with any brand as long as they carry the panic button necklace, and I also do not mind if the new system can only contact my phone number and some other numbers. Thank you

I'm sorry, I don't know anything like that, that is free.

Hi there,

I do not mind to pay for the devices. However, I do not want the one with monthly payment.

Or... Perhaps, some panic button necklace which is water proof and is able to call my cellphone when it is pressed.

I think most of them have the option of wearing something around the neck or on the wrist. I'd do a search online and see what kind of payment options these places have. I would bet you could pay it in a lump sum up front. My mom had one, but it was set wrong and she fell and no one checked on her. She was wedged between the end of her bed and the cedar chest. She lay there for 17 hours before she was able to move enough to press the button. That was 2006. So I'm sure they've improved by now.

I vaguely recall seeing an ad for one that came with a base unit that connected to a land line phone and a "remote" that you wear on your person. It would be OK in the house, but not for going down the street. Don't remember who or where.

Life Alert has ads on tv. I just can't remember the one Mom had. I didn't like it anyway. There was a base at the house. It was for use in and around the house. It had a range of about 300 feet from the base, I think.

If you find a medical alert system without a monthly fee, let me know. I live alone. And yup, it's only a matter of time before I fall. I do have a phone in every room.
