Just getting back online after being released yesterday afternoon after six days in the hospital.
Had been feeling poorly, weak-ish and dizzy-ish for awhile and having dark / black / maroon stools and typical me I figured that I could push through it but apparently couldn't so after mamas urging checked myself into the ER last Friday....ended up being pretty low on blood / hemoglobin and was given 7 units of blood and two or three other things in plastic bags through my IV during my six day stay.
Not going to try and figure out the actual medical terms so we'll just have to go by my layman's terms, they first did a endoscopy and they found a open volcano looking spot low in my stomach and cauterized it but through several blood tests daily that showed that didn't stop the blood loss they then had me do a gamma / nuclear xray and it showed another bigger hole but it was further down and couldn't be reached going through the top so they then did a colonoscopy and luckily it could be reached (barely) and cauterized it then several more blood tests showed that my blood / hemoglobin loss had stabilized and I was released late yesterday afternoon.
I feel better now than I did prior to going to the ER last Friday but I'm still a little weak and a freckle light headed once in awhile...I did have my first good / solid bowel movement a little bit ago and the stool color was normal with no blood present.
On a brighter note;
Today is our 50th wedding anniversary.....she's an absolutely fantastic lady and I feel very fortunate that she picked me to spend her life with.
