As i noted earlier, I spent one night in the hosp, last Thurs. Came home late Fri. Starting Mon, I have been receiving about 3-4 Robo calls p/day for this Med plan, or that , or this Med alert or that, etc.& so-on.

It is clear to me that the Hosp, must have sold my contact information? to a list? / a group ? Just doesn't seem right too me. They told me to go home & rest ! How in the hell can ya rest when the damn phone rings about every [phone's ringing as I type this] 2-3 hours.

Anything to make a buck I guess !

I would call and speak with a representative from the hospital, point blank ask if they did indeed sell your name to an insurance company.
I think this is a violation of your rights, giving out or 'selling your personal information without your permission.
I suggest you call a lawyer see what he/she thinks they can do regarding your situation.I f you don't have Caller ID with your phone get it now,so you won't pick up the phone unless you recognize the caller or the phone#. Sue

So when you were in the hospital you didn't have any insurance...so that is why you are getting calls to buy some. I don't answer my phone very often and if I do and don't recognize the voice, I say she's not here and hang up.

This last week I have been getting Robo calls too about new medical plans being opened up in my area. Also calls for med alert devices. I have not been in the hospital for a couple of years. I now recognize the numbers and do not answer. If I answer in error, I just hang up when I realize what it is.

Another possibility is that the hospital made an inquiry into your credit report or insurance carrier and that is the source of the leak.

Sadly, we live in a world where someone is always watching and trying to figure out how to separate us from our money.

OK, so then perhaps I'm mistaken...and the situation is the same as yours ?

Hopefully they'll stop soon.

I've suddenly been getting similar calls, too. It's been 5 years since I've been in hospital. One of the calls told me the back brace my doc ordered had been approved etc. -- none of my docs ever ordered any such thing. There are an awful lot of medical scams out there. I think they just call at random, and particularly to older people.
