To qualify you must meet the FDA requirements for the severity of your hearing loss. This can be done with a ENT physician and AUDIOLOGIST Mine will be paid for through the Veteran's Administration which has the same requirements. If you can hear with hearing aids you will not qualify.

Lon! If you've posted before about having this procedure done, I missed it.

Really? You're having this done? I'm happy for you. A friend's niece had hers completed last spring. It has altered her life; took a few months to get accustomed to all the "noise" she said, but she is quite used to the changes now and ecstatic with her new (regained) ability.

Wish you all the best with it.

Very happy you are getting implants. I don't qualify because I can hear with aids. The problem is I can't hear well with the aids such as in a group setting or the TV. or the phone. I do have a caption phone that helps if I'm home. I can't afford the top of the line aids that can help with these problems so I live with it. Good luck Lon, I'm sure you will be very happy with them. I know people who have had it done and all are completely satisfied.

I wish I had known about that. I spent a lot for my aids and I wish now I had waited.

Let us know how it goes and how you like them, hear?

(sorry, that's the way we talk in the South)

Hi Lon,
I have cochlear implants and I LOVE them; it has made such a difference in my quality of life, socially, personally and otherwise. Do you have a surgery date yet?
