u-tube has a lot of info on meditation..easy listening...I have been setting aside some time to do this too. Not really too knowledgeable in how to do it, but using it as a time to inspire myself.
I love that quote! You all have truly helped find some peace and I'm eternally grateful! Thanks for sharing, Dagny.
"Gratitude is the memory of the heart" - Mary McKillop (1842 - 1909), Australia's first and only canonised saint. Mary's life was far from easy but she rose above adversity, obstacles and unjust persecution because of her strong faith and an ability to recognise the goodness in everyone.
I don't meditate in any formal or structured way but I appreciate time alone to look around at the wonders of nature and I feel calm enough to count my blessings. This is how I experience a sense of calm in the middle of life's storm and draw strength for the rough patches.
I am no saint but I find inspiration from learning about the lives of people like Mary McKillop.
I used to have a problem finding time then I decided to use whatever I had..even a few minutes here and there. The other day I meditated while waiting for the physician to come in for my appointment..It is difficult for me to designate time each day for meditation. I should try again.
When you do try it again you'll wonder why you thought making time for it was so difficult. It is difficult for me to designate time each day for meditation. I should try again.
If you do it in smaller (10-15 minutes each) bits, 2 to 5 times a day it can have the same benefits as longer but fewer sessions daily.I have been meditating find benefits when I stick with it. I have more self-control as a result though I have to keep it up. I like using u-tube to guide me but other times I just use a simple mantra. I do have a tough time going past 15 minutes though..I need to work on that..
Netfix currently has 2 different series that are good for those who've never had training or have but have not done in it in a long while: Guide to Meditation, Unwind Your Mind and Guide to Sleep. I haven't checked out that last one yet cause i sleep well. When i first noticed the series i thought the animation style might put me off but it didn't.I have been setting aside some time to do this too. Not really too knowledgeable in how to do it, but using it as a time to inspire myself.
I have been known to meditate for 5 minutes in rest rooms on jobs to calm and refocus on stressful days.I used to have a problem finding time then I decided to use whatever I had..even a few minutes here and there. The other day I meditated while waiting for the physician to come in for my appointment..
