Mediterranean Diet May Keep Seniors Sharper, Stronger

Among others things: an increase in the growth of bacteria linked to improved brain function and memory, and a decrease in possibly dangerous inflammatory markers.

I see we are supposed to benefit from fruit, veggies, legumes, nuts, olive oil, and fish. I eat those things and a tiny bit of fish, and I can increase the fish. I hope I can find a way to prepare it that makes it more tasty.

Sounds good to me!

The Mind Diet is a similar easy to understand meal plan.

I don't follow a specific diet but I try not to eat pastries, donuts or any high fat non-nutritious food. I don't drink wine and couldn't eat beans every other day too much whole grains every day. Nuts are too high fat for eating every day. I have lost weight by watching what I eat and I walk every day preferable outside. The Mediterranean diet is good as it promotes eating more fruits and vegetables and good fats as well as fish and only red meat once a week. The Mind diet limits fruits and vegetables but promotes beans and wine. Whatever is good for you is the best.

I try to eat the diet that's high in food gurus. Maybe by eating more of them, we can get rid of them. If you lived 50, 60, 70, 80+years, you know that variety ,and moderation are essential to life. There is no magic diet.

Three portions of grain per day is a stretch for me. I don't have the will power to eat healthy every day so cheers to those that do have it.
